Hi All,

Eventually managed to pack my hospital bags today!! And am pretty much ready for when the monster arrives. Well as much as can be!
Seeing as my scan practically showed he is likley to be early i thought i should get organised.

Also dug out my mums old gym ball. (like borthing ball thing but a bit smaller).
So i have been sitting on that today and found if i kneel and lay over it, it really eases my sciatica. Which is very bad today as i've been packing bags.

Got midwife and work tomorrow, what fun! I am going to see what she says about my scan and the fact baby is not going to be small. I am worried as the measurements say he is due on the 1st June but my date is the 13th. It means they could leave me till the end of June if i went overdue. By whihc time there would be no hope of a natural delivery! (ouch).

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Laura,

I must read your scan post, I haven't had time to catch up yet, but glad to hear all is going well.

Did you use a list from somewhere to help pack your bag? I have decided to start thinking about it when I leave work in 5 weeks time. I'll be 35 weeks - do you think that will be early enough?

Hi Sabrina,

I started packing my bag this week, early I know, but I needed somewhere to put all the bits and pieces I'd started picking up.

I'm packing a 'labour bag' - this is where I'll keep all the things I'll use in labour at home (or can take to hospital in worse case scenario), a 'baby bag' and a home birth kit - with things like old sheets & towels, clear tarpaulin to cover furniture, torch, a mirror, candles, aromatherapy oils and burner etc.

Here is my list for the labour bag:-

*Maternity notes
*Nightshirt x 2
*Slipper socks
*Maternity knickers (cheap ones + disposable maternity briefs)
*Clothes to come home in plus spare clothes
*Toiletries (facecloth, shampoo, conditioner, deoderant, facial wipes, moisturiser, shower gel)
*Water spray
*Wheat bag
*Towel
*Hairbrush
*Hair bobble
*Maternity pads
*Breast pads
*Nursing bras
*Bottled water/snacks for me and OH
*Glucose sweets
*Camera
*Tissues
*Music of some kind (set up an ipod playlist?)
*Phone numbers
*Money for phone/carpark

Here is my list for the baby bag:-

*Babygros and sleepsuits
*Scratch mitts
*Cotton wool
*Small pack wipes
*Eco disposable nappies
*Vaseline/Sudocrem
*Baby hat

I haven't packed all the above yet and I'll probably add more to the list - but that's where I'm up to so far!

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Laura! Glad to hear you're all packed!

Love

well you have been busy :D

i haven't even done mine yet :(

Don't worry girls! I'm only half way through packing mine and I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow! And apparently I'm 1cm dilated and effacing already! When I had my last scan the woman was confused and told me that baby was showing as big for my due date....BUT SHE THOUGHT MY DUE DATE WAS 9TH MAY!!! It's actually 23rd so I'm expecting to give birth to a giant!

imarszall u sound much perkier, i'm glad

Hi

Glad you are ready now!!
I was packed by 32 weeks with Kiara and i aint even started yet need to buy a new diaper bag first then get a few odds and ends :?
Remember to pack things for your OH too so he dont have to run back to the house for himself tons, maybe a spare change of clothes for himself ect.

Hiya!

Yeah i looked for hospital bag list on google and found a few good ones. My hospital gave me one that was sooo out of date.
The one i used was a checklist so i've left it on my bag. That way when we go i can put in the last minute things.

I haven't bothered packing sweets and drinks yet or my camera.

I am perkier thanks!

I just had this urge to do my bags as my scan was a bit worrying, lol!

To be fair you could do it on the day if you were in slow labour and wanted to take your mind of it!

Love
Lau
