Pacemakers

Hi i was just wondering if any one on here knows anyone that has got a pacemaker in?

The reason im asking is my dad is going into hospital on tuesday to get one in, i dont know of anyone else that has one so i dont know the ins and outs of it, i also live in another country from him so i do worry about him and hope all will be ok with him.

I dont know anyone personally with a pacemaker but I do work in a cardiology dept so I meet loads of patients with them. I have also seen them being fitted. Dont worry about it, it is a common thing to have done. The ones I saw where just done under local anaesthetic and apart from a bit of soreness for a little while afterwards I think its a pretty uncomplicated procedure.
