Hey girls...
I want to start actively tracking my ovulation, for when me and my husband are trying.
I have purchased the ovulation tests from ebay and they r due to arrive tomorrow.
How do I start?
I have a very up and down cycle which averages out about every 31 days. I have an app which tracks my periods and gives me a slight indication when I may ovulate. So do I follow that and test around d that time?
This is my 3rd time trying 2nd time tracking ovulation but I didn't do it properly the last time.... I don't think lol

Help

Hi
Because I am not fully aware of when I ovulate, or even if I will ovulate seeing as this is my first cycle off birth control I use BBT (charting vaginal temp), cervical fluid and cervical position. Charting is a good method to determine ovulation patterns, it doesn't predict exactly when ovulation would occur although comparing a few cycles could give you a great idea of when your fertile window might be and how long your LP is after ovulation. You can then start to use OPKs during that fertile window. Alternatively you can use OPKs from CD1 to ovulation, it will clearly show when you are gearing up for ovulation until you get a solid line or smiley face. Good luck :dust: :hugs:

Thanks a million. So see when you start to get a 2nd line on the ovulation stick to you dtd then? or wait until its really dark?

It's always a good idea to dtd as much as possible, especially when you start to see a line forming. Don't wait until it is dark before dtd, you could risk losing the window of opportunity. Good luck xxx

Hi cers,

If your cycle is usually 31 days then you'll most likely ovulate between cd15 and latest cd20/21. I would start doing the ovulation tests around cd 12 to begin with so you can narrow it down. It's recommended you don't use the ov tests with fmu as it can give you a false positive but try to test twice a day, mid afternoon and later on in the day (with as long a hold as you can). I used to test about 2pm and 8pm!

We ended up needing fertility help but our GP and consultant always said dtd every 2-3 days around fertile time is more than enough to cover you. I used to ovulate on cd14 and would dtd every 2 days and usually an extra one on ov day ;) if you try every second day from day 13 - 21 I think you'll be more than covered. Once you've narrowed down when ovulation is with opks you can narrow those dates down again. Ewcm is also a good one to look for and use that as a guide, it usually starts when you're in your fertile period!

Good luck xx
