Ovulation question

So I was wondering, I'm apparently ovulating today (so my phone app says) and my shot at sex last night was ruined by my own IBS....not a happy lady here haha so tried again this morning but OH was hot and sticky from sleep so wasn't overly in the mood for doing it this morning.

My question is, if I'm due to ovulate today, if we had sex tonight, do you think I'd catch it? Do they do cheapish ovulation tests (just got made redundant but do have a job to go back too so money is short for 4/6 weeks) which I can take over the course of the day to keep a check on it?

Thanks in advance!

You usually have 12-24 hours after ovulation for the sperm to meet the egg so all is not lost yet. Just jump on him when he gets home and jump on him again a few hours later, you know...just to be sure ;)

He doesn't work so can't jump when he gets home, I can keep trying throughout the day but likelihood is it won't be til bedtime so midnightish but obviously with an app I could of already ovulated or it may be tomorrow, who knows

Yes, but I wouldn't trust your phone app. I use two and they are never accurate - also they both give wildly different ovulation dates and windows. I would go with your CM and opks if you use them. DTD every other day should be enough anyway. You can conceive up to 24 hours after you ovulate and your phone app could well be off by a day or two anyway.

My phone apps been spot on for when I'm due on my period, so guessed it'd be spot on for ovulation too.

Due to stress/pain we hardly DTD as it is, last DTD on the 30th April haha

You have my sympathies with the IBS. I have it too. I'm a bit worried about what it will be like if I ever do get pregnant!

I would echo other people's comments about the phone app. I use OPKs and the phone app never gets the ovulation day right. (I use Ovia app).

They may not be spot on for ovulation as it probably assumes everyone has a 14 day luteal phase but they don't. Ovia is the best I've found. Fertility Friend isn't very accurate for me.

FYI - I've got ibs and it got better in pregnancy!

My periods lasting like an extra day or two for my last two cycles, so may that push forward ovulation by a day or two, even tho my cycle is still roughly the same amount of days?

It might do or it might not. I've been tracking my cycles for 18 months and I still can't get my head around it. I think ovulation can vary by a day or two month to month. You wanna look out for EWCM as that's a sign is go time. I track CM, basal temp, moods, ovulation pain, opks and ovulation microscope and now pretty much know when I am fertile or almost fertile.

I got two apps on my phone now, both have different dates for period and ovulation....with one app I ovulate yesterday and the other I ovulate in 2 days. Why so confusing? Haha

I track on paper too. I got a form/graph with my first lot of ovulation tests from Amazon. I find it more helpful than apps. You can work out how many days of EWCM you tend to get before ovulation and then count from the first day. it's easier to see on paper and compare months.
