Hi ladies,

Just wondering from those of you who went the 2 weeks overdue, was there any side effects for baby with this?
I know that babies skin can end up a bit dry and wrinkly but wasn't sure if there was anything else? I don't want to google as no doubt something terrible will come up.
I'm not 41+1 and get my induction date tomorrow.

I'm trying my best not to be too disheartened about being overdue :)

Thanks in advance xx

I was induced at + 10 (the max they let you go at my hospital). LO was born the next day. She was breech so ended up having a section.
No effects to LO having been overdue - except she had pooed inside me which MW said was because she was overdue. Luckily she had no effects from this x
Easier said than done but try not to worry. Hopefully your body will catch up and get the baby heading towards the exit :-) x

I have heard the same about the wrinkled skin. I obviously have the same concerns. I am worried I'll have a big baby to crank out too, despite having a small(ish) bump!

I'm not too concerned that baby will be a whopper it's more medical issues. Spoke to my mum who said my brother was 14 days overdue and he was just flaky. At the midwife tomorrow so will express my concerns then, and hoping for an induction on Friday I'm really going to push for it before the week is out x

Good luck! Mine was adamant that I could only be induced at Term + 14days :-(

My hospital policy is 12 days overdue so that's Sunday but I'm going to say oh will then be able to be with me all weekend etc instead of sing in limbo about work etc who knows fingers crossed :) x

I am petrified of having a HUGE baby, baby estimated weight 3 weeks ago was 8lb 3! Well I'm getting bigger (none of my maternity clothes fit) and mw won't measure me now as I am just beyond the scale :-? I'm asking to bring my inducement date forward from next weekend to mid week next week as I'm in so much pain with SPD and my knees can carry my weight either now. I know exactly how you are feeling and totally understand why you are worried. Poor baby can't have much room left and well, we need our bodies back too. We are too good at being a welcoming host!

I was induced 13 days after due date (hospital policy) and he was born the next evening. Healthy boy and healthy Mum.

It is very disappointing going overdue - especially as from 37 wks you have probably been saying 'it could happen any time'! But rest assured the ed is in sight!

Good luck. xx

Cam was 9 days over. Had slightly dry skin buy cleared up quickly. He's was grunting for some time but that was because he flew out! Xx

Sent from my shit hot phone! Fo shizzle home girls.

oh dear kellly, sounds like you have a good case to bring it forward mine is purely because I've had enough! I haven't put on alot of weight and I am really all baby so I think I've been lucky. But I would like my body back. Maybe I should cut out my chocolate digestives then baby might get a shift on!

Thank you julianne, nice to hear a positive story. I'm steering clear of google :)

3 more sleeps till I am induced... it really can't come fast enough!

Had a sweep today and I was favourable. I managed to move my induction forward but only by 2 days :( but any time sooner is better...just hope the sweep works.

Come on babies x

My boy was only 6 days over and weighed in at 9lb 12oz (SO glad I didn't go even more over!) And his skin was really dry, especially on his feet and hands. Plenty of baby lotion has sorted that now but only cleared up in the last couple of days. X

I was 11 days past my due date. My LO was fine, a couple of days later he had a bit of dry skin, nothing major but a little olive oil in his bath cleared it up xxx

I was 9 days overdue in the end and bub was born with really wrinkly feet and his hands looked like chicken feet

They recommend sunflower oil now and not olive oil.

His skin was fine after a few days

I was 12 days overdue. My LO came out just perfect, his skin was so soft and supple. No dry skin whatsoever! I think because I had a lot of water that kept his skin so lovely x

Thank you For replies, my little girl ended up being 10 days over and was a little wrinkly with dry skin. Clearing up now though

Hi, I went 42+3 with 2nd baby. No effects. Dilute meconium with waters but to be expected.
I did go for monitoring every 3 days I think and midwife was going to do another sweep but discovered I was 4-5 cm, I just thought they were freq hicks lol.
Good luck go with your instincts.
