over supply?

i know that my supply hasnt settled down yet but i have so much milk its unreal . i had to express this morning simply because it was so painful. baby fed from both sides then i expressed 6oz now hes back on again and still drowning in milk. is this normal poor little man seems to spend more time coughing and spluttering than actually drinking x

The problem is if you express 6 oz just to ease the engorgement, then you will just produce the same/more as your body will think the baby is eating that. Or are you expressing for bottle feeding?

It does calm down though. I hate the being engorged stages, I spend all my time wishing for him to feed to relieve me rather than making the most of the time he's not feeding!

Also have you tried just expressing a tiny bit before latching...just to get that initial let down that drowns them out the way?

i only did it out of desperation to be honest and since getting all that hes fed really well all day no drowning and no more sore boobs xx

I have to do this everyday, not quite so much though.

After the morning feed I have to express off 100ml otherwise hé cant feed properly for the day. I don't mind though as it helps me build a supply of bottles for when I'm out x
