When i had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago i was told that my ovaries look polycystic, i will have this confirmed on Friday but anyway, for the past few months i have been getting ovary pain every day some days mild, some more intense. Its a variation of burning, pulling, fluttering and stabbing which can be intense sometimes. Does anyone else experience this? I hate it :(

I've had it for years hun, it's put me in hospital before. The only thing I found that helps, without being smacked out of my head on morphine, was acupuncture xxxxxxx

I actually talk to them sometimes, tell them to shut up and leave me alone! its friggin horrible and i cant hide the pain on my face sometimes. Do you have PCOS? xxxxxx

Hey yep i experience this!

I also had a ultrasound which showed enlarged ovaries and immature follicles and was told it appeared i had PCOS. But blood results came back fine, i had no other signs or symptoms of PCOS so my doc didnt diagnose the condition.

I am now seeing a specialist, who has order me to have 3 lots of cd21 bloods done to double check ovulation. My cycles have been fairly regular over the last 3 months at 31-32 days but this cycle it looks like i ovulated early so will be having a 27day cycle, something i need to tell the specialist. I have also had a lot of left side pain since mid last cycle, constant dull aching with occasional stabbing, so will mention this on the 19th when i see him.

Do you have regular cycles? Have you got any other symptoms? If not they'll say you have polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome, having just polycystic ovaries shouldnt effect your abillity to conceive, according to my doc

Hey Emma, well i dont have cycles full stop! i came off the pill in Oct last yr and had one period then, another in Jan, then nothing since! my bloods were ok weirdly but know i will need to be referred. I dont have any other symptoms at the moment, just no periods and lots of ovary pain :( I was regular as clockwork before going on the pill at 17 xxxx

I don't get it all the time, only when I actually ovulate - but it then lasts 4-5 days - sometimes to the point where I am very uncomfy - BD can be painful and I have to take paracetamol if I need to be active.

So I cannot imagine having that on and off all the time - what does your doc say about the pain, can anything be done to control it? sounds awful.....

Sorry to hear that you're in pain.I've had this before and it turned out to be a large cyst and the only thing they said was baths and hot water bottles...didn't help :(

Thanks for your replies girls, I am going to speak to the doctor on Friday to see if there is anything i can do to help manage the pain. I really dont want to live on painkillers, the thought doesnt make me feel too great and i have tried the hot water bottle but doesnt really do anything. Congrats on your pregnancy Doob :) xxxx

Thanks :) good luck with your gp I hope he/she helps xx
