Ouch! Is this normal?

When Emily bf's and really drains a boob, I get pain. It starts about a minute after she's done, and then wham! It's like getting punched It lasts around 5 -10 minutes and then fades away. It's not nipple pain, but breast pain. Is this normal? What can I do to ease it?

Does it happen in both breasts or just 1? X

It happens in whichever one I feed her on at the time.

Does this pain come with your letdown at all? Could be that. Otherwise, it could be thrush. If your baby is fussy at all around feeds, it might be worth seeing your dr or carer

Doesn't happen during letdown and it's not thrush. The hv thinks it must be my body getting used to fb because it only seems to happen when I do a 'big feed' or she cluster feeds and the breast empties. I'm seeing the practice nurse next week, so I'll mention it again. 6 week check is the week after that, so I'll have a chance to tell the gp too.
