Oral Thrush treatment while breastfeeding?

My friend is suffering terribly with thrush and has tried nipple creams etc but nothings working so far.

She wants to know if the over the counter thrush tablets are safe to take?
Has anyone been prescribed Canestan?

I was told not to take these whilst BF theres some herbal tablets.. acidophilus that i was told was ok to take, you can get them from holland and barrett. If the baby has it in the mouth then Daktarin gel works also the HV prescribed the same cream to pop on nipples. HTH.

I used Canestan xx
