OPK's & first ovulation after failed IVF

Hi girls,

This is the my ovulation since our failed IVF and I bought the expensive clear blue OPK's because I wanted to know when my cycle would go back to normal. I expect things to be a bit haywire but wondered if this is your experience?

I usually ovulate day 16, I'm now on day 18 and for the past 4 days have had the flashing smiley face which means 'high fertility' but I've have not yet had 'peak fertility'. When I used it in the beginning of TTC I only ever got 2 days high fertility.

This afternoon I've got terrible cramps which feel more like period pain than ovulation, and (TMI) have just had some small dark red blood clots when I wiped. I've not yet had EWCM.

Is this just old blood left over from egg collection? Its different to what I've occassionally had with ovulation in the past. My stomach is still really swollen, my boobs are still massive and my hair is still falling out by the brushload. But to end on a happy note emotionally I am starting to feel much better - haven't cried for 4 days and have been able to focus on work stuff for the first time in months!

Any thoughts on the OPK's?

Don’t know anything about post ivf ovulation but I think @Alexis2017 might be able to help as I think her cycle was a bit different immediately after.

Hey I ovulated on Cd19 and usually I O on cd 13 - 15. My af arrived 28 days post ovulation so that was normal. I didn't have any bleeding outwith af. My af this cycle is very clotty again like my early misscarage but I've not had any cramps which I normally get. I am feeling more bloaty. My skin has been so dry and dull during ivf and that's it started to be oily again so I think my hormones are back to normal again going by that. Someone even commented in my skin looking more glowy again.

I think most Ppls cycle will be knocked off post ivf. Hope your feeling a bit stronger. I still have days I cry and it's been 1 month since my mc.

We got booked back in for FET today so not long till we do it all again.

I've had that before I think it will just be knocked off a bit. Hopefully it will regulate next cycle xx

Updating in case someone reads this in future who is having similar issues.

Today, day 20 I got a ‘peak’ fertility on the clear blue OPK. I am so sore and have been having red and brown bleeding. My hormones are everywhere and had a big argument with my other half last night but even if we were talking there’s no way I’d want to dtd today, I’m just too sore.

I googled and searched other forums and painful ovulation after IVF or IUI seems to be quite common, probably as a result of STIMS or egg collection. Some women on those forums had it for months. I hope that’s not me as time is running out for us.

Oh Hun I’m sorry, I’m not surprised you are sore, try not to put too much pressure on yourself, it’s ok to take a month of if you need to take care of yourself. Xx

I had painful ovulation after the mc but this is my 2nd period post ivf and didn't have any cramping or bloating this time so feeling bCk to normal ready for my next transfer. I hope the next cycle is more normal for you too x
