Hi ladies. I've been using OPK's for the past few days. I know how they work (test line as dark as control for a positive), but I have a few questions about them. If anyone can offer me some insight that would be great :)

1) What cycle day does everyone start usually start using them on?
2) What time of day do you use them? I've seen a lot of people say to use them in the afternoon.
3) When you get a positive, when do you ovulate?

These are mine from the past few days and I think they're getting darker, apparently I should be entering my fertile window tomorrow but I have no idea as I'm not long off the depo but had a 27 day cycle last month.

Left is CD8, middle is CD9 and right is CD10.

Hiya, i usually start around cd8 and do one a day around 2pm. When its starting to get darker i do x2 a day (one at 6pm). I try not to drink too much and i also hold my pee for a good couple of hours at least! Once i get a positive i know i could ovulate in the next 24-36 hours...could be within 4 hours....hence doing x2 a day when your close as sometimes the LH surge only lasts a few hours so you dont want to miss it. Also worth checking for ewcm as this is another good sign that ovulation is imminent. Good luck x

I would use 2 a day. One between 12-2 and one between 4-6pm. I notices that sometimes the line would get significantly darker after a second twat in the day. I'd use them from CD8 but I had short cycles.

With cheapies I test around 10 or 11am. I think you need to test between 10am and 5pm. Once you have a positive you will ovulate within 48 hours...it's usually stated as 12-36 hours. But you need to dtd before ovulation so dtd right away that day is best. If you see the stick starting to get dark then it is good to dtd too. If you do it for a few months you get used to your pattern. Still looks quite light. Might be a few more days but it can turn quickly. For older women there is usually less of a gap between the LH surge (pos) and ovulation. Good luck!!

1) It depends on your cycle length. My cycle is 35 days, under normal circumstances I O on CD21 so I start testing on CD17 just to make sure I don't miss the surge should I O earlier than expected.
2) You never test with FMU. I have found that testing at 12 or 2pm works best - just remember to do it at the same time each day.
3) You will O after a + anywhere from 24-72hrs pending on your body. Carry on using an OPK even after a + that way you will know when it's safe to stop baby dancing so that you don't miss out on any opportunity to fertilize the egg

:dust: good luck hun
