Hi
I've not used OPKs for 5 years and when I did they were clear blue. I'm trying to track my cycle before we TRY in the new year. I think I'm CD10 although my last cycle was quite messed up and my period a little strange. I feel very bloated and uncomfortable so I've done an OPK this morning after about an hour hold (I know afternoon on a long hold is meant to be the best time). I'm guessing this is positive?? My test from the last 2 days have had faint lines. How accurate are these tests for ov? I've had really bad evaps on their HPTs
Thanks x

looks good, you could ovulate anywhere in the next 24-36 hours xx

I usually keep testing til they go faint again but its done me no good this cycle and has just stressed me out instead :(
I had pos opk from cd10 until cd16
finally got a negative today

Thank you for the replies. I think I'll keep testing until they go faint and see.i think I'm cd11 today x

OPKs are stressing me out so much :( I only started using them this cycle and I can't even get a squinter of a line on them. I starting using them to try to put my mind at ease that the apps are fairly okay at working out ovulation etc but now im waaaay more stressed than before. Am I even ovulating??

Good advice for everyone definitely positive. I'd keep tracking to get an idea how long your lh surge can be x

luckyLaura have you tried doing a full month with the Clearblue Advanced using the same test holder every time? X

No I haven't- this is just my first time using them :( Clearblue are really expensive and I would feel like I couldn't use them haha I'd be calculating how much money they'd cost per test as I used them

They are ridiculously expensive  Think the best deal I got was 20 for £36 on dr fertility  . If you still struggle though it might be worth doing one month just to see if you get a clear definitive answer. My opks were messed up on the standard cause I would try ovulating, fail, try again. So they would get dark, not make it, lighten up. Argh!! Hopefully you wont need them though x

Hi,

Are you using the strips? And if so are you testing after 10am? The strips need to be used between 10am and 5pm. Clear Blue opks are different and have to be used first thing in the morning.

If you aren't getting a line I would go to the GP and ask for a blood test to check your LH levels around ovulation. At one point I wasn't getting a pos opk and was referred for a blood test.

I used Clear Blue at the start but they are so expensive!! I use the cheapies and don't have any problems with them so I've just carried on using those. My cycles are usually 25-27 days. I start testing on CD10 and I tend to get a positive between CD11-CD14. The positive usually lasts about 12 hours so I usually catch it either in the evening or first thing in the morning. Lots of women ovulate later than that though.

Laura - if you're really not getting positives with either then I second what Sunflower has said and it's probably worth getting a blood test.
