OH and I really like the name Levi, but for us it is a little 'out there' and I really don't think either of sets of our parents would like it.

However, we do love it. It works well with our sons name and our surname and finding a name both me and the OH love is quite miraculous!

But, I don't know, I don't know if I am brave enough for it...

Thoughts?

The other boys name we have lined up is Isaac and I also like Noah but my OH isn't as fussed about that name, boo :-(

P.S. I can spell 'opinion' but can't edit the title to correct my typo!

I really like it and think you should go with if you're both happy.
Like you we struggled to find names we both agreed on. We fell in love with the name Archer with our 2nd LO and knew our parents would hate it, which they do! We thought of going with Archie as a safer option (if that makes sense) but it just didn't feel right for us so we went Archer and just told our parents to accept it. My mum said she would use his middle name but never did and everyone seems happy with it now as they have gotten used it x

Levi is a cute name. I know a little boy who is called Levi, and also a 23 year old girl, who is Levi!!! It's a nice name. A bit different but not too "out there", in my opinion.

Levi is a lovely biblical name. My sis in law loved it but didn't use it for her boy as her 'best friend' laughed, asked if he was to be called after a pair of jeans and told her not to be cruel.

The more people I know who have kids, the more I understand it when they refuse to reveal name choices before the baby is here.

Aww how mean! Hmm, if I called my potential son-to-be Levi I wouldn't want him to get picked on in the playground for it.

But, I view it as a nice name rather after some jeans! My son has a biblical name (we just like Old Testament names but we are not religious!) which is probably why we think the two names work so well together!

Thanks for your thoughts ladies :)

Levi is more common than you think. It's not as 'out there' as you're imagining, so if you like it, go with it.

I know a Levi, and at first a lot of people commented on his name saying it was unusual and not what they expected, but no one said they didn't like it. And tbh it totally suits him! I couldn't imagine him being a Joseph or a Matthew!

I love 'out there' names :) My brother-in-law is called Levi, I really like the name. If you love it, have it. I couldn't name my child something I simply didn't love.

My son is Kai and if this little one is a girl it'll be Serenity and if it's a boy, it'll be Phoenix. They're certainly not common in my area so that suits me fine :D

Cheers ladies! I'm surprised so many of you know a Levi! It has relaxed me a little about potentially using the name. I do really like it! I guess I'll know in about 24 weeks whether I'll use it or not. We still really like the name Isaac a lot but I think Levi has a bit more of an edge to it.
