well for the past few weeks I've been waking up in the night with sore/stiff hips and nothing I do seems to help. Tried pillows everywhere, swapping sides regularly, paracetamol, ball bouncing. Well today I could barely get out of bed. Hubby had been working nights so he's out for the count so I did the school run wadding like a duck (although I didn't have my pink fluffy slippers on this time!!!

Does anyone else have this hip pain. It feels like it is really deep within my bum, right where the ball and socket joint is. Bloody hurts lol x

Aww bless ya! I get bad hip pains when i've been laying on the same side all night. If I subconciously roll over in the middle of the night i'm normally not too bad.

I don't know what to suggest though - a warm bath before bed might losen you up a bit? Xx

Aww hunny that can't be nice :(

I find that if Ive walked too much or just done too many jobs the day before Ill be sore and aching in my hips the next day and find it difficult to sleep, but its not a constant thing. Maybe mention it to your midwife at your next appointment. Is there a chance it could be SPD? I don't know too much about it but I know theres a few people on here with it, maybe theyll be able to help :)

xx

ahhh poor you having to do the school run!!! Could be SPD, worth a google I reckon. For the record in my antenatal class the midwife said that the latest advice is that pregnant women CAN sleep on their backs in they are comfortable doing so. That if it compresses any blood flow you'll just instinctively roll over, so its only dangerous is someone is unconscious and then they need moving onto their side. Good news eh?!

Mmmmm, sleeping on my back, what a joy lol!!!!! I do miss it!

Maybe painting the hall yesterday didn't help.....?

I have this, every. single. night
its horrid :(

havent come up with any relief, just dealing with it - feels like i sleep on concrete every night!

Yes I have it and walk like I'v pooed myself! X

cheers for the warning! xxx

I have hip ache to and have to turn fequently in the night to ease it - can't remember having it before during pregnancy either. I'm sure it will go after birth it just takes things a while to settle x Hows Joshua Klam?

I have SPD but mines mainly in my frount, in the pelvis not the bum and it feels like a pressure pain to me as if its all going to collapse, def worth a chat with your MW and no painting the hall prob didn't help hun LOL

Really suffering today! How is everyone elses hips?

Stupidly painful hips and I keep getting shooting pains in my bum!
I'm walking like there is something up my bum which is all very amusing for the office haha!
Has anyone else had cramps in their calf muscles?
I find that I'm woken up with this agonizing pain where the muscle has cramped and after the pain has subsided I find that the muscle is tight for the rest of the day, sometimes longer!

x

After a couple of ok days, it's back with a vengance. Walking around Asda this morning was agony, the checkout woman thought I was about to drop lol!!
