I got my 12 (well 11.5) week scan this week! I am very excited as it will be the first time I get to see my baby! And I will find out if I'm carrying one or two babies.... its the genes!

Does anyone know roughly how long the appointment lasts? And how clear are the scan photos?

I'm a bit worried that i may also be carrying twins, we have had 4 sets in my family, 2 each on both sides. I was starting to be sick and have bad headaches even before i got my BFP and that's how my mum said she was when she was having my sister and twin (who sadly didn't make it past 8weeks of pregnancy) and my tiredness is 4 times what it was with my son. I still have no baby bump though which makes me think (and hope) that i'm only having one!
I'm coincidently seeing 2 of everything from twin pigs and trains on cbeebies :rotfl: and when i asked my husband what he thought about us maybe having twins whilst we were on holiday a lady appeared pushing a buggy towards us with tiny twin girls before he had a chance to answer...
Has anyone had twins before? What were the symptoms if any?

I was convinced i was having twins after what we now call 'the egg incident'. Never even seen one before but my OH broke into a box of six eggs to make an omlette, and first 2 were double yolks (two full yellow yolks from one egg shell), then a few days later we had the rest, 3 more! 5 out of the 6 were all double yolks!! I've never even seen one before and apparently they are rare. However after scan i am definitely just having the one!!

The scan appointments are fairly quick once you are in around 15-20 mins of on screen time! Sometimes they take blood afterwards depends on what tests you have done when and where in your area.

How clear they are depends on how well your baby is lying and actually how far along you are at your 12 weeks scan (i.e. if you are actually 12 weeks or earlier without realising). Many poeple are told to have a full bladder before hand as this pushes everything up towards your tummy and makes it clearer. Luckily mine was very clear, see my piccie in my ticker below!!

Good luck you'll love it!

Wow Kirsty the same thing happened to me one time last year - five out of six eggs were doubles. I didn't get pregnant that month though because OH was away among other things - but that being the main reason!

I felt we should have though!

I have been obsessed with this!

Before I had my daughter I miscarried twins and I felt so so sick with them. With my daughter there was hardly any sickness so I am very paranoid about this!

I have a scan on Wednesday so I impatiently awaiting that. I think the first thing I'll say is 'You're sure there is only one right?'

I'm too scared to crack any eggs now in case I get a double yolk to add to the paranoia!!!

I keep getting double yolkers when I do a fry up for my hubby

Ive had twins  and I have to say I had no idea as it was my 1st pregnancy..the only thing I felt was terribly sick 24/7.

Then found out at 12 week scan...still havent got over the shock..10 years later!!
