One boob not working right?

Hi girls, unfortunately I was unwell and unable to attend the breastfeeding class while pregnant so I don't know all the proper terminology for breast feeding or have a clue what's wrong with me.

At sight, my boobs look the same but, my left boob works great, baby will happily suckle from it, I get minimal leakage and when I tried to express for the first time yesterday I got 2.5oz from it

The problem- my right boob. Lo doesn't seem to enjoy this boob as much. She will latch but not for long and seems to fuss. I leak a lot from this boob however when I tried to express from it I couldn't get anything from it

I'm 4 weeks into bf now and I remember at 2 weeks ish I became engorged in my right boob only however Lo did eventually sort this out and I haven't had the problem since

Babies often have a preference for one side. It could be that it has a quicker (or slower) let down, it could be she is just more comfy positioned on the other one. Have you tried different positions on that breast? Does it matter which is offered first? It's probably worth seeing your midwife or a breastfeeding counsellor for them to help you find a comfy position for baby on the right side.

My LO wouldn't feed off one boob at all for the first few days and preferred the other for the first weeks but did eventually get the hang of both. Some babies only ever feed off one breast. All that really matters is that baby gets enough milk.

They do tend to prefer one boob, my LO is the same. I now offer that one first to her and as she is hungry will stay on longer and i always offer it again after we have had the other boob. Suckling will help stimulat more milk also. I also massage the 'weaker' boob before feeds to try help milk come down faster.
