I need to take time off to rest with this illness. I spoke to her on phone and I sounded terrible. I couldn't speak at her at all. So need to get a sick note. Xxx

How likely is it ill get one on midwives advice? I work in a care setting and she said she feels its best I rest as ny job involves interacting with elder people x

I think provided you express your concerns and explain what the midwife has said to the dr then they should issue you one.

I went awhile ago as i felt really stressed about work and had had some days off feeling unwell (and then fell down the stairs) and I got issues with a note for two weeks

I only spoke to her on the phone and she seemed concerned that I'm not resting as much as I should be. Thanks for the reply xx

I don't see why your GP wouldn't give you one, but I suppose it depends what the note actually says as to whether work see that as enough for paying you for the time off. If it just says you need to rest opposed to you are ill, then they may not think it is enough.

I've been unwell for 2 weeks now, have zero energy, full of cold, loss of voice and hearing. She just said I didn't sound fit enough for work at the moment. Really hope i can get the note, its time to rid of this illness. Xx

I was in a similar place to you when I went to the doctors - admittedly I had then fallen down the stairs the night before but anywho ...

I just said that I was really struggling with things and that I had been very achy, suffering from some back pain and discomfort and that I was struggling to sleep properly and the gp asked me whether I needed a week or two to recover.
