Ok, i am from England, near Peterborough untill i met my hubby in the dominican years ago, then moved to canada but have been staying on a visitors visa meaning every 6 months i have been leaving the country to see my family because im only allowed 6 months here at a time untill i go through a series of tests forms interviews xrays bloodwork ect and months of waiting to finally be a landed immigrant, which we havnt got round to yet. So we got married in June, and went away on our honeymoon to Domnican (which is a quick flight) when i was three months* pregnant (-ish). i thought that my visa expired early feb late Jan, giving me time to fill in a form of extended stay (which will only be processed in 30days no sooner)... i just looked at my passport to double check and have realised i need to be out the country 10th JAN!! :o that means my only option is to leave hubby and visit family and have 19 days to sort babys passport! i called Passport Canada and they said i will have to pay a rush fee but its easily done and i will have her passport before then. i ahve to get her pic done fill in forms and register her birth asap then go down to the office in toronto, but OMG! i will have just had a baby, and will be traveling with a three year old and a very young newborn ! so many things going through my mind! what about the carseat push chair all the things a newborn needs aswell as having to keep hold of a three year old for hours before bording ect?? i am OVER THE MOON to be seeing my mum i miss her so so so much its unbeleivable and seeing her is so worth it but so much to do and think about arhhhh! x

omg what a nightmare! :o
hope everything goes to plan!
is there anyway that your OH can stay with you til you board the flight and your mum can be there waiting for you when you arrive??

Try and just focus on the positives and make it as enjoyable as you can.

Thanks girls... what a day!
First i have to concentrate on having my baby, then its xmas a week later, i have to make sure everythings in place ready and get her passport in time, then im flying a LOOOONG tiring flight to Gatwick a few days after that! im schdule is officially booked up! i will try and do it so i can wait as long as poss to board and be with OH, but then i have to fold up the pushchair carry bags ect on my own. when i get there i will have to get off and go to grab suitcases meaning i will have two onboard bags, a three year old and a newborn AND two suitcases AND a pushchair and carseat :wall: :wall: i normally mannage well with just DD, i have connecting suitcases that can clip together, i use one arm to push pushchair and one arm to pull suitcase and meet my family just after so its no too bad, i think im goin to have to keep baby in a sling and push DD and use the pushchair as a help to carry some bags for me! x

Does sound like a struggle sweetie but youll be ok

Cant no one take ou and meet you from the airports?

hi
is there anyway the airport staff an help you carry everything,im probably being silly but when i've watched the english programme airline and airport before the staff are seen to help people carry stuff if they are disabled/over loaded etc, could you ring them before hand to see if the staff can offer any helpat all??
even pushing the luggage trolley while you get the children about would be a help!?

I will have to book my flight and check with the airlines.. i mean hom much harder can it be with one little extra person though? i will have a nappy bag and her in the sling, and the carrier/carseat, but if i can check that in with the bags that would be fab

i'd definatley contact them beforehand and ask how much help you can get!
if you have an idea before you arrive it will stop you feeling so anxious or getting stressed out on the day...........

you may be alot cooler then me but i need reassurance!! (esp at the moment! my OH calls me a stresshead!! )

Oooooooh god what a situation :o thank god you checked your passport, hope the airline can help you hun

Where abouts are you originally from as were near peterborough, i am having bubs at pboro district hosp :D

Hun Im sure you will be fine with the flying and handling you babies!   But I feel for you in the sense that gosh the thought of going on a plane for that long now while Lola is over 3 weeks just seems like too much effort lol

Is there not a minimum flying age i thought some airlines dont allow babies on under 6 weeks?

I know most airlines wont allow babys under 6 weeks to fly. Especially on long haul (over 5 hours) flights, also you should be very very careful if you have to have stitches. I know leaving FROM uk if you stay in hospital longer than 48hrs you would need a "fit to fly" note from your Dr so check that out!

I will check that out thanks girls, im having a home birth so hopefully that wont be a problem. i dont think there is the same restrictions here and there is no age limit. iv checked up and done some reasearch and there is no danger flying with a baby so young only that being in a airport and germs/flu/colds ect but she will be tucked right up and covered and will be breastfed so hopefully she will have a nice strong immune system. I flew with my DD at 3 weeks old but not such a long flight and there was no problems then, i spoke to my middy tonight about it and she didnt seem worried.

A little off topic, but I have some fab news I AM *almost* 2CM DILATED AND 50% EFFACED :) that makes me so exited! i know my last examination i was totaly closed and thick, and she was really surprised to see such a change :D soooo exited that my body is doing what its meant to be doing.. does anyone know how long it could take from now??
