OMG!!

Thats they first thing i said when OH showed me! 'That couldnt have been vaginal!!'

owch........... can u imagine if it was!!!!!!

Blimey!! I'd of felt cheated out of a tiny wee baby but at least it's healthy!
Only in America ah?? X

Its like skipping the newborn stage totally and having a toddler lol

Whoa! I'm sure the mother was glad that she didn't have to push him out! He's so cute too. Hope he's ok and there are no longterm effects of the gestational diabetes.

Does gestational diabetes cause any harm to the baby after birth? x

It's crazy isn't it! The main risk for the babies for GD is getting stuck during delivery and the normal risks associated with c-section. Well, early on (1st tri) it can cause miscarriage I think but not really sure how. The other concern is that the baby's blood sugar is high if the mom's is, so when the baby is born it's blood sugar can drop as it's not getting it from the mom. But usually it's fine if the doctors are aware of it.

I can't imagine having a newborn that big, I agree about feeling cheated out of the wee baby stage. Also, I would always be concerned about their weight compared to that of their peers.

Never mind that, I'm scared about what it says at the bottom about the 23 pounds 12oz baby :|
I just googled and sadly he died 11 hours after birth :( His mum was 8ft and weighed 18 pounds when she was born.

Oh, she gave birth to that baby vaginally too.
They had to pull him out :|

Doesn't help that she married the worlds tallest man either..
My OH is bulky and quite tall
