I don't even have any animals!! I only moved to my new house 6 weeks ago!
ughhh

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: sorry that really made me laugh!

Are you sure it was a flea?! I thought they were so small you couldn't really see them (I'm probably just being thick though?)

Our house had fleas when we moved in. We got some awesome spray which sorted them all out but I really can't remember what it was called.

I remember one time picking my nightie up and there were about 10 of them on it!

awww bloody hell! thats not on, the spray thats the best is called Staykill and its made by Nuvan, its expensive but it works, you just spray it around the edges of the room and it will kill them.

Do the whole house before they breed anymore! We had a bad case of them once. Spent an absolute fortune trying to get rid. In the end i bought a big can of spray from the vets. About £15 it was. Worked wonders. Never needed it since.

that is the stuff i have just mentioned, was it in a HUGE yellow can?

Ours was white. Had to do the whole floor, curtains, settees etc. But i didn't use it all. Still got a 3rd of a can in the cupboard.

my dad lived here before me and he had a dog, who had fleas. he got a guy to come round and spray the place - cost £75 and they're still here!!! he's gonna get him to come again. we don't even have any pets here, so annoying.

was it called Indorex?

The ladies on here recommended this to me when we had quite a bad flea infestation... best stuff ever!! killed the buggers and stopped them coming back. We managed to treat our 2 bed flat 3 times and we still have half a can left!!

That's the stuff!!! We paid £50 for bug bombs, bought carpet powders, sprays, allsorts. Must have spent £100 try to get rid. That spray works wonders.

same here. and we found out that our cat is allergic to flea collars - all her hair fell out around her neck.

The powders and stuff seemed to kill the live once, but as soon as the next generation hatched we where back to square one! unless you treated it twice a day every day for weeks i don't think they work.

However that indorex stuff killed the buggers right off!! we only treated twice more to make sure we had got them all. its not cheap, but its cheaper than forking out loads for powders and stuff that don't work.

Do you know if the people in your place before you had pets? We where in our flat for 2-3 months before we got the buggers. and the flat was empty for a good 6 months before. Our cat doesn't go out, so i doubt she brought them in. We had put the heating on for the first time, and a few weeks later we where overrun with them! I recon the heat and the promise of free food (the cat and us) brought them out of the carpets. the eggs can survive for ages in the carpets :puke: nasty little buggers

They can live in the carpets in their eggs, sort of in a hibernation mode. When new tenants come in, the heating goes on and the carpets are being walked on, it sort of reactivates their life cycle and they hatch.

We had to use Acclaim once, that's a white can from the vets. Store bought stuff doesn't compare.

 fleas, i fucking hate fleas! we had them once before we discovered frontline (bob martin is pants asna waste of money!) theyre not too small to see, they look like a poppy seed but flat and more oval than round. they are pretty much indestructible, apart from frontline- oh and pressing them between sellotape  *evil laugh*

oh u guys! theres some website where u can get cheap frontline- i assume maybe the indorex is cheap too? idk we've never needed that. frontline is £30 from vets' for 6 vials but its only £15 on the website. forgot what its called, sorry! its in my favourites but im not at home right now! look it up tho, might save urselves some money

Bob Martin shouldn't even be on the market!!! It doesn't work and they make cats seriously ill or even kill them! One of my cats, which is now Snuggles, had a serious reaction to one of the ingredients. She was 6 months old and not a very big cat! She could have died! My vet was furious when he found out what we used! Not at me but at the fact it can still be bought!!! Apparantly there are loads of fatalities due to them!

Sorry, got carried away with the rant there! Lol

Getting vet grade stuff is essential. If it doesn't kill the eggs and larval stage, it isn't gonna get rid of the problem. I HATE fleas- I'm one of those people who they LOVE to bite. Last time our neighbours cat had fleas the bloody things kept jumping off it when I walked past to bite me!!
Frontline is the best on the market for pets- I've always used it.
