Olive oil for dry skin

My midwife recommended it so we bought some today and we are going to try it later when Lizzie wakes up! Will let you know how it goes :)

We tried a liitle bit on her feet which helped alot but wanted to put some on her body too. Mw said not to do her hands as she could then put it in her mouth. What about the face?

It's worked brill on Charley's body but his face is still very dry at 9 weeks old!

We were recommended it by the midwives so we have been using it for a couple weeks. It seems to work well but his skin is still a bit dry. When I mentioned it to the health visitor she said olive oil isnt great because it is more of an 'instant fix' but wont moisturise long term. She recommended Aqueous Cream which I luckily have to 'use liberally' as this will put the oil back into his skin for a longer period of time. We are now using both!

Ooh I'm gonna get aqueous cream too :)
I see what you mean about it being an 'instant fix', makes her skin look beautiful when you put it on but it will dry out again once it's soaked in I guess.
SPC - make sure you warm it first! :)

i use rapeseed oil as midwife said that put the oils back into the skin and it seems to be working x

Hey, Aiden was 2 weeks late and very dry skin, esp hands and feet. I used both olive oil and the aqueous cream. Did look great at first, but dried out again day after. I stopped using it after first week or so and now his skin is perfect. I think its one of those things that goes on its own to be honest! Was told to only bath once or twice a week as that dries the skin and also if you do want to do her hands I did Aidens and put his mits straight on. xx
