norman my hamster is no longer with us  I check him every night when im getting changed for bed, and change his water and top his food up. My Norman is a bit of a killer hamster, and we have long given up holding him. i swear, given the chance he would go for my neck!! he used to screech at the top of his little lungs at me.
well anyway, the little thing didn't go for my hand like he tends to when i put new food in. ive called and poked his cage and there is no response. tomorrow morning im going to use a hairdryer and check he isn't just hybernating (sp), as i don't want to do it now and wake alice.

R.I.P my little physcopath hammy

(how deep do i need to dig a hole in my garden if it turns out he is dead, so the foxes can't get to him???)

Before you bury him just double check the hibernation thing! Hamsters do tend to do hibernation. There will be apparent rigimortis if Norman has passed on :(
Good Luck :(

aww, sorry hun

iv had hamsters and u kno if theyre dead coz theyre like lil frozen statues rock hard

or not. when i got up tis morning he was alive!

I had put the heating on for a bit last night before going to bed, i recon he must have just been in a deep sleep. last night i poked him again before i went to bed and there wasn't any response. :?

I once knew somebody who thought their hamster was dead so she tried to give him a heart massage (WTF? I KNOW    ) but it turns out he was hibernating but because she was handling him in the way she was she gave the poor thing a heart attack- literally :wall:

I have two chinese dwarf hamsters now and there really sweet, stephen has his own in his room, he loves her too bits, he called her holly, snd mines called tilly lmao

one of my friends kept her hamster in her room, and once when she had a cold, her mum plugged in one of those room fragrance aromatherapy things and the fumes killed it! :wall:

esp if we had burried him the 2 ft down Oh recons we would have needed to bury him.

he is just over 2 years, so he hasn't got much longer left in him anyway.
