i woke up last night twice in agony!
i dunno what it was, but my stomache was rock hard, and it just felt like someone was squeezing my stomache really really hard! i was so scared..and it hurt that much i was crying and shouting!
i thought i was going into labour and i was so scared! this is my first and iv been quite excited about the birth nearly here but when that happened last night, i was like NO NO stay there!
im ovb not in labour as i feel fine this morning.
what do you think it might of been?
extremely painful braxton hicks?

amy and 36wk bump, lola xxxxxxxxx

yeah it sounds like braxton hicks to me.

some woman have them right through pregnancy (i have) but there painless, while some have them later and they are painful. There practice contractions. I wouldnt be worried - but if you are get in touch with your midwife for a check up.

The only other thing it 'could be' is an upset tummy? i had an upset tummy at about 4 months and i thought i was in labour cos it made braxon hicks that where painful. - in the end it was nothing to worry about.

 hope your feeling better today

sounds like braxton hicks to me hun i had them really bad and they were not nice try not to worry

I had this in the middle of the night last week, if it was Braxton Hicks then its the only one I've ever had :?

I have painfull Braxtons now, right now :rotfl:

They're normal later on in pregnancy and get your body ready for the real deal. :D

yeah come to think of it, i asked my mw the other week why i was gettin period type pains and she said there braxton hicks :? totally different from what i experienced last night!

Yup, sounds like BH to me too! Blinking things had me going friday night :x It is very hard to determine whats labour and whats not, as long as they are regular, dont stop when you move about, get closer in frequency and stronger... then its labour.. but if they die down when u move about, or have a shower, or are very irregular then i wouldnt worry and take it as a sign your body is getting you ready for your LOs arrival! :)
