If redundancy is good, at least he can spend some time with you (no consolation I know)...But would also give him time to get a job he wants, rather than just anything.

Nothing can be done. He hasn't been offered anything that the news is reporting, such as relocating or help with another job. He is basically on his own with it. He still has 3 months left and he'll be getting an additional 3 months pay at the end of that. It is just great timing with the baby due in 2 months.

oh no im so sorry to hear about that, please let us know how the job searching goes. my OH has had this a couple of times with local brick laying companies. its a scary time.

It's never a good thing to have the uncertainty of that hanging over your head, but at least with 3 months pay after work stops, it gives you a bit of breathing space before things get tight!!

When DH and I were going through IUI his company announced redundancies. It was the most stressful time of my life. The decision date about his job was the day before I was due to test.

Everything worked out OK, he lost his job but we got a BFP so I didn't give a crap about his job. Luckily he got rendancy pay and now he has a job which is better hours and nicer people to work with.

Debt collector! I am sure there are a few people out there that are overjoyed that there won't be as many debt collectors calling them but still at the same time he was absolutely miserable in that job. He was verbally abused by clients all the time and he was fed up of it. So we are taking it as a blessing in disguise. It is giving him the chance to get a job he really wants now.
