We were out all day and left the computer on, came home and Norton had ran while we were out and we had a massive and rather impressive 105 virus' requiring action

How the heck do they get on to your computer!!

On a plus note it has made Brian say that he will get me my new laptop next month!

In my and my OH's proffessional opinions (we work in IT!) the answer is PORN!!!






Just kidding!! You get them by being on the internet too many ways to go over right now - not much you can do about it other than what you already are! Often you'll get on virus that allows more and more to get onto your PC. They can replicate themselves (hence the term virus) or open a backdoor (trojan) that allows more to get onto your PC.

Keep your antivirus software up to date and you should be fine!

Yeah we accumulate a suprising amount on here and im never on porn, and OH saysss hes never on porn lol dno where they come from but they do rack up !!

Hmmm if you run an anti virus check each week you should never have that many build up anyways.

When I used Windows I left mine to scan on the Norton default setting which iirc is 8pm every Friday evening. Plus I left my computer on 24/7 so it was never an issue.

Don't leave it any long length of time between scans. Pointless paying for Norton if you don't use it

Set it to run at a time of your choosing and just make sure you leave the computer on for that day/night so it can run. Better overnight so you don't have the problem of it being a possible go slow while trying to use it.
