I had an auction up for a pair of nipple protectors since i never actually had to use them. I didn't really want a lot for them and listed them for 1.75 buy it now price (worth almost £5). Somebody bid and I sent them the invoice.

They've written back to me saying they have paid and that it shows on their bank statement. Paypal (only payment I accept) and ebay show no payment has been received so I wrote back to this person explaining that and asked them to tell me how they paid.

They replied again, just detailing the information from my invoice. Again, ive written back explaining no payment has been received, do they want help with paypal? Let me know if they are having difficulty or ill be relisting cos my terms are payment in three days?

Is somebody seriously bothering to try and con me out of about £3.75? Is it bloody worth the time and bother for them to send the emails???

What is most frustrating of all is that if somebody desperately needed them but didn't have any money and put a plea on here; I know i would have sent them for nothing and so I'm sure would quite a few other of the breastfeeding advocates on here.

Grrrrrrr! :wall:

I would just wait the 7 days and report them as a non paying bidder. If they leave you a neg and haven't paid you can have it removed.

Could they have paid by e-cheque? If so, the money goes out of their account ages before you receive it. It's a bit confusing but I think that if you have no money in your paypal account and don't have a switch card registered to back up your paypal account this is how the payment is sent. Hope this helps x

e-cheques are through paypal... so it should show on your paypal if they'd paid with that but just as 'processing' or something... it would definately show as a transaction though

I have had this bother before but I was the person paying. It was hard for me to understand why even though my payment was out my bank the other person had not received theirs. I think it takes 7 working days to clear into paypal.
Nuts isnt it. :wall:

I've had this too, as the buyer. I paid £120 for a pram and it had gone from my account and not into the sellers. When the seller called paypal it was cus my payment was "High risk" I wasnt informed of this, but I think it was cus I added a new debit card to my paypal account. In the end after us both ringing paypal the funds did eventually go thru but paypal are a nightmare to actually speak to.

I'd be tempted to think not. It sounds like a genuine misunderstanding to me. If you'd have been happy to give them away anyway, I'd just write them off :)

thanks for the suggestions about e-cheques; I went and checked on paypal and there is nothing showing as pending. I've asked this person about three times now to tell me how she sent payment so I can look into it but she keeps avoiding the questions and saying 'just wait til i get my bank statement' although in her original message she claims it already shows on her bank statement.

If it is a genuine misunderstanding surely she should be trying to help me get to the bottom of it!!!
