****October 2014 mummies****

Gemmylou your pic's a bit like mine.

I'm sitting here reading your posts, drinking alcohol free beer and eating edam cheese. I'm a classy chic.

About hypnobirthing what put me off was my 1st with dd. I'd really wanted a natural water birth with essential oils, candles, soothing music, the lot. In the end I was induced, labour lasted 2 days, I ended up having an epidural because I was losing consciousness I was in so much pain. Dd had her head stuck. Then I bled all over the place and it was awful. Only the birth in itself was quick and perfect. Hmmm come to think of it why am I doing this again????

Hahahaha!!! Love that "why am I doing this again". I had a friend round this afternoon who has 2 boys, very close in age, and after talking about labour, I said those exact words!!!!! Xx

Don't get me wrong despite having a good experience with my son I'm still bricking it that I have to do it again, I think in a lot of ways ignorance is bliss.

Ah Gemmylou I bet it's lovely buying all the girly bits, we just popped to Sainsburys and they had some beautiful girly baby grows. Def worth a look :) Have you thought of any names yet?

I've got my scan on Monday, still planning on staying team yellow, although I'm desperate to know! Most of my friends and family are guessing pink but we shall see. I can't believe we are over half way! xxx

I've been burying my head in the sand about labour.
While I didn't have a horrendous birth last time, it wasn't ideal and not what I wanted. Lo was back to back, contractions slowed, pushed for 2 hours then ended up prepped for an emergency c-sec if the ventouse didn't work-thankfully it did.

I've considered hypnobirthing but there isn't anything available at the hospital. I want to be in full control of my body this time so I'm going to look for some CDs. Or something.

We made our official were having a baby announcement tonight-makes it all real with 4 months to go! Eeek

Taffy..be strong :) stay team yellow x

Ooooh! Thanks Taffy, I shall check it out.

All you Team Yellows, I think you're amazing. Although, our little madam left nothing to the imagination, so we'd have found out anyway.

Xx

Its so hard staying team yellow, when I had my scan I couldn't stop looking at the screen trying to work it out, I couldnt make out which part was which. One time the scanner said there's the kidneys and I thought they were the eyes lol. I have my re scan a week on Monday and I think I will have to put some tape over my mouth so I won't ask :-)

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

Someone stop me shopping! I'm on a roll! Took Joe to toys r us today to treat him, ended up looking at all the baby things, Esp the travel systems, Joe chose the baby everything he likes.....disney cars cups and bowls and plates etc. he was so excited that I ended up buying so much stuff the baby won't even need yet haha!
Then went to mothercare, bought baby clothes and toys and bought the baby's cot :) xx
It's starting to feel real though am trying to hold back a little and not get carried away! Think I'll hold off buying the travel system until I'm a bit further along. I'm finding there is so much choice it's boggling my mind.

Now relaxing as I'm shattered after being on the go all day! Xxx

Beci, I wish I were like you. I haven't bought anything apart from a pair of socks and a toy elephant, and that was months ago!

Oh wow Beci, but I has to be done at some point and if you have place to store it at home then this is not a problem :) and it also get Joe involved as a big brother :)

I think we are so lucky that we will have most of the stuff hand down so shopping for us will more for just a pleasure of getting something for our boy or topping up. It takes the fun a bit but saves as money so we may have a nice house... But for now we can't find nice one in a good price.
There is doc/fest in Sheffield this week and we went to see a opening movie about Pulp. Looks like our boy either loved it or hated as I had right kicker in there. Actually I was almost sure that we a closing to this moment when maybe my OH will feel them :)

Ahh Kat that is lovely, won't be long and OH will be feeling those kicks too :) xx. I think getting hand me downs and buying second hand is great. This baby won't be having everything brand new just some things. Just have to stop taking Joe shopping with me now lol xx.

Kat, I am yet again nervous for my scan. OH can't come with me neither as he didn't get that day off, so I will take my mum instead. Be the first time she sees joey. What time is your appointment?

Fun high five I am 23 weeks today :yay:

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday

I know Vampy time seems to be flying now. I think v day is such a big milestone xx still feels a way off for me but the days seem to be passing quickly at the moment after dragging for so long! Xxx

Ah huge congrats to those approaching v day, I think it really starts to feel real after that point :) I've not been doing much in the way of buying, just picking up bits and pieces as we have most of the big things. We're concentrating more on doing bits in the house at the moment. I have a long list I want to achieve buy September and time is ticking!

I went on my friends hen do last night and we went to the Adonis show in Bournemouth, what an eye opener. 3 beautiful men dancing and taking everything off and I mean EVERYTHING! Was a great laugh and waking up with no hangover is a big bonus.

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and can't wait to see bubs again, although slightly nervous as everyone is until you see baby's ok. Still staying team yellow, although I know OH will be desperately trying to make it out. It's also my little man's 2nd birthday tomorrow! I have no idea where 2 years have gone! Am finding this baby likes a good wriggle first thing in the morning and last thing at night at the moment :) xxx

Aww Taffy!! How fast have these last 2 years gone?! Hope Max has a lovely day :D And you get to see baby too! (I'm still convinced it's a girl by the way!)

Our little madam is exactly the same! Good wriggle first thing in the morning and last thing at night too!

We've bought bits and pieces really, mainly clothes, as we still have the major stuff. Need to buy a bed for James, as his crib was a cotbed which he uses the bed part for now, and we are going to use that again for this baby.

Hubby has the first week of July off work when I'm still in, so he can concentrate on decorating Little Lady's room :) Think I'll feel a bit better and organised when that's happening!

Hope you're all having lovely weekends :)

Beci, it's going way too fast at the moment... I swear we only found out haha or thats what it feels like.
taffy, good luck with your scan tomorrow and a happy birthday too for tomorrow.
I know what you mean with, where are the 2 years gone?
my son is going to be 11 in august and I seriously wonder where these last 11 years have gone.

Happy 22 and 23 weeks, nearly there Lynn , v day here you come xxx. At least having your mum at the scan she knows what she's talking about and I expect she will be having a good nose to what Joey is up to on the screen and tell you everything after the scan :-)
Good luck tomorrow taffyrose . And happy 2nd birthday to Max tomorrow xxx
