****October 2014 mummies****

Sallyb - I'm due Oct 13th and I'm planning on my mat leave starting that day - I've booked off 2 weeks of annual leave before then too, meaning I'll be off from the beginning of Oct.

Where I work, they let you take any bank holidays that fall while you're off, before you go - well, I'm planning on taking the full year, as I'm going back Part time, the statuatory mat pay is actually more than I'll be earning, so may as well! There's like 8 bank holidays in the year I'm off, so I'll be taking off the 8 Friday's leading up to my maternity leave/holiday - whoot!

Congrats Eggburt!! I can't believe another blue!! The next person up for scan has to have a team pink! Lol!

Its my scan fri and I think I am the only person with a scan this week intending to find out.
I am a nurse and planning to leave work on 31st august, take my 3 weeks remaining annual leave and then going on maternity leave at 38 weeks. I will be taking the full year off then will have another 5.6 weeks annual leave to use between oct and dec so that's handy :-) xx

Ahh that's good, we get to take time put aside for Xmas before we go but the bank hols go onto the next year's allowance so will have around 2 weeks to take also but don't want to leave too early and baby be late.

Where I work you can take a career break. So after my maternity leave is up I might consider that. I only work part time so paying for a child minder would take up most of my wage. Also our parents are not local and OH works a couple hours from home.

I have a very fidgety baby today. Was just giving me some serious wallops too! Roll on June when i can see *her* (lets face it, baby is most likley a girl!) again!

I will most likley finish 35 weeks due to holiday days left and me starting mat leave a week early due to uncertainty over a possible second c-sec.

Just been laying in bed and baby proper kicking, my oh just felt it for the first time. Such a lovely feeling so pleased

Claire - yes I am finding out gender all being well :)

I was thinking of starting maternity leave at 38 weeks (beginning October) and maybe taking a couple of weeks a/l before that depending how I feel, it's mainly office work so hoping I will be able to work as long as poss :) xx

you might be eligable for tax credits. we get £25 a week towards our £82 nursery for 2 days. it all helps and makes it more worthwhile going to work xx

Anyone seen the british heart foundation advert? I dont think i like it!!! Something about being pregnant and hearing " my heart may stop" upsets me. Must just be super sensitive!

I just seen that shooting star!! On channel 4?? I don't like it either :( like we need reminding of what could go wrong! I'm now lying here prodding myself wishing I was feeling movements!

I am self employed so will work for as long as possible but can work from my laptop at home (or in bed :) ) so it won't be too bad. My son was 3 weeks early so I'll start slowing down about 35-36 weeks I should think.

I'm feeling the odd movement but not enough for OH to feel yet. I think this one is going to be a right wriggle bum :)

I've not seen that advert yet Shootingstar xxx

Yeah - watching man vs Weird and it came on. I thought exactly what you did. I understand the message, but i think its maybe not been delivered the best way it could have been!

I have my gender scan with ultrasound direct tomorrow.. I was so excited now the nerves have kicked in. Hope LO is doing lots of growing and is healthy in there x

Good luck tomorrow FebMum2be and enjoy watching your bubba xx

Shootingstar I saw it on channel 4 earlier and it went ice cold down my back, as I had a late mc at 23+5 wks nearly 4 years ago and my son had a heart failure. I felt sick ... hope to never have to see this advert again.

How are you all today? I had a pretty sleepless night. Was still up at am and spooking around this forum at 6.40.. no idea what that was. Feeling so tired today

Have you managed to have a rest vampysgirl?

THis forum is bad for my studies. I'm sitting here eating Pringles (after some 2nd Tri folk discussed eating crisps). Need to get my act together
