Daisy. While your post can come across as somewhat shocking at first, it is also you being very honest and probably saying what others may not feel brave enough to- not that I am saying that anyone else has had the same response to their scan as you.
Some of us probably go into the scan hoping for a certain outcome. When that doesn't happen, some are ok about it and others can take it hard. After all if you expect something and don't get it, it can be upsetting. That being said, I have no doubt that very soon you will get over the shock and start becoming excited about your little boy. It may not happen until he is actually here, but I am sure that you will adore your Boy.
Yes we could all say to you that you should be pleased with a healthy child, but like I said previously, if you expect something and don't get it, the results can be upsetting to some and the intial shock/upset can be strong. I suppose the lesson is that we should never expect to receive something that we want - but life would be dull otherwise.
ANYWAY, we are all entitled to our opinions and the forum is here for us to seek comfort and advice in one another. We may not agree with what there say, we should be respectful of all opinions and offer what support we can. After all we must consider that the way we express ourselves on "paper" can be interpreted incorrectly and our views may make us judge a person without taking time to consider ones emotional state or what they actually are trying to write/communicate.
