Hello,
Looking for some general advice - as the title says, I am obese and pregnant.
I am coming in at 226lbs (16st 2lbs), I used to be 258lbs (18st 6lbs) so have lost 2 stone and 4lbs (I had lost just over 3 stone but I ended up over eating during winter and christmas)
Although I am proud of my weight loss so far I know I am still not a "healthy" weight for having a baby. I am physically fit as I was running 5k several times a week up until a few weeks ago. I don't have cholesterol problems and my blood pressure has always been great much to the docs surprise.
I have not been to see the doctor about being pregnant yet - I know they are going to lecture me for being a obese.
I don't want to lose weight being pregnant, I want a healthy baby but my questions are -
Can I still do my 5k runs several times a week?
Is there any way I can reduce the pregnancy weight gain?
I don't want to put all that good work out the window by gaining back all those pounds, I felt miserable and depressed at that weight and I finally feel more confident at this weight even though I am still obese. Also it is my wedding 9 months after baby is due and I want to be in a size 18 dress at the most! Don't want to push it into the 20s and 22s again where I used to be.
I have been eating yoghurt and fruits for breakfast, having light lunches and trying to snack on health things like homous and carrots instead of binging on crisps and chocolate.
Also, will there be any chance I will have a nice looking bump? My weight is all carried round my stomach - its like wearing a tyre! I am worried no bump will be able to show and instead its just going to push the fat forward! Oh dear...bad mental images!!
Any advice on managing weight/reducing weight gain etc would be so helpful! xx
