Hi everyone,

I have been told not to buy any nursing bras until after the birth as my boobs are likely to get even bigger... god forbid!!.. is this true??

Just worrying that if I have to wait til afterwards and I have a C-section [highly likely] I won't be up to shopping for bras!!

any suggestions on best brands and bras - I need something very supportive- currently a 36DD and already feel my boobs are sagging rather too much :( :( :(

Thanx xx

I bought mine prior to Ella arriving and apart from when my milk came in and they swelled, they fitted fine. My boobs have actually dropped 2 cup sizes since having her (so had to get some new ones recently).

Mothercare do some nice supportive ones :)

Hi Anne Marie

Like Kina, I bought my nursing bras before Olivia was born and they fit fine. In the early days of breastfeeding when your milk comes in your boobs will swell (this is the tissue puffing out where the milk is coming through the ducts) and most likely go rock hard. This is temporary and will soon pass. I use the M&S nursing bras (pack of 2 for £25) and find if I get the adjustable strap on the shoulder straps just right it's a very snug and supportive fit.

HTH

it is recommended you go at around 38 weeks, they will take into consideration that your boobs will swell. I second that about the m&s ones.

Same here, I love the M and S ones, the one with a black one and a white one in the box :)

I bought mine before Nathan was born. When my milk came in and my boobs swelled they still fitted. I also got the M&S ones, I found them very comfortable and they gave good support :)

Rachel xx

You can order from Barvissimo.com, they have nursing bras and they only sell bras for bigger boobed women so they are bound to be supportive
:)

grr i was told the same thing by mothercare..i got measured by them at 38 weeks and told to just buy a support bra for now as my my boobs would get bigger after the birth and then i'd know which nursing bra to get!..how cheeky are they just trying to boost bra sales??

you should go and get fitted for a nursing bra at around 36 weeks. If its a good fitter (mothercare.debenahams etc) they will take into account that your sizes willbe different.
you will need a nursing bra straight away for support and something to hold the breast pads in too :D

then mothercare are employing staff that dont know what they are on about or just try to up sales..hehe

oh fran i didn't read your post! thats terrible. lukily ive had good staff who have known what they are on about. The best people to go to are older women ( i know hat sounds really bad) but they know what they are on about.
