Im planning on having a humphreys corner themed nursery but spend most of yesterday looking at the range (in mothercare and on the humphreys corner website who have one coming out) and I dont think I can justify the prices. While its something I really want Im in process of buying a house that will need replastering as having damp-proofing course done, Im also needing to replace a ceiling and have electrics done in there, and to be honest I know in my heart that I need the £100odd that I would spend on humphrey bedding elsewhere in the house.
Mam has suggested that I have plain bedding and just put humphrey pictures on the walls in there (already got 12 small ones). Her point was that the baby will be about 6 months before they are in the nursery and there will be other ranges out between now and then so I could just buy it when the babys ready for the room.
I just want the room done asap so that its all waiting for baby and I can put photos up on here etc

Do you think I should wait and see whats out when baby is ready or just look for plain bedding etc and just have humphrey on the wall?

Could you can get a few bits of the range on ebay or local free ads maybe just to make the pennies go further?

Sorry for gatecrashing 2nd tri but I've given my nursery alot of thought already! I really wanted the ollie & molly next range but like you, it would be over £100 for just a few bits and pieces and I don't want to go overboard.. its just I like everything matching

So I think what your mum has suggested is a great idea, just get picures and buy normal bedding sheets etc with maybe the matching quilt cover for the cot? Thats probably what I'm going to do because I don't need a matching bin, nappy stacker, light shade, rug etc. Plus, when your baby is born maybe your parents will ask you want you want and if you have everything else sorted, point them in the right direction :)

I had a good think about this today when out shopping and think I might go for something quite plain throughout and try to borrow an OHP from our local school (got contacts lol) and try to paint a BIG humphrey on the wall as you walk through the door and then I can use the framed pics around the others

The framed pics I made myself, bought packs of 3 frames in IKEA (they came with animal pics in them) and then cut up this years humphrey calendar so the pictures are all themed around the months of the year. They look good (even if I do say so myself)

Problem I found with looking on Ebay is that nothing matches the bits Ive been offered. And if Im honest, I dont know if I feel comfortable buying the bedding from there, curtains etc dont bother me in the slightest. I know it can all be washed etc but Id rather get new if possible or know the person selling it. Think its just my mothers influence on me over the years
