I went to hospital last Friday with a severe pain in my side, they eventually did an ultrasound and diagnosed appendicitis. Had an operation on Sunday to have my appendix removed and was allowed to go home on Tuesday.

I am in agony every time I move and stand up and it's doing my head in!! anyway, they reckon it will take 5 weeks to recover fully and it's only 4 weeks until my due date, I'm worried about the pain coming back during labour and the possibility of having a C sextion. Does anyone know anyone that has been in this situation, I have been told it's pretty rare!!

Pic of my scar is below, in case anyone was curious

Omg hunny

At the end of the day though sweetie there's loads of reasons why you could end up having a c-section.....I only went in for a sweep and ended up with my baby lol. If that's what it takes to keep you and baby both safe and well then so be it. I didn't want the recovery time of a section but I would do it all again tomorrow to have my boy :D

Make sure you rest as much as possible and try not to worry over it too much as stress can delay healing. if you have any worries ring your mw and hope you feel better soon xxxxxxxxx

Lots of hugs! poor thing, hope u feel well soon xxx

you poor thing. put your feet up and rest!! xxx

Fingers crossed for a quick recovery so you can try for the delivery you want.

hope you recover quick hun :)

ur scar seems a little high up i had appendicitis many years ago and my scar is a lot lower down then urs, but if if they thought you was at rsik of it coming open during labour they woud have advised a c-section already!!

just take each day as it comes and see what happens and like BB said if a c-section is whats best then so be it as long as ur LO arrives safely thats all that counts :) xxx

yeah, they said that the uterus pushes things around so it's in a slightly different place to what it would be if I wasn't heavily pregnant. It was definately appendicitis though!!

thanks for all the responses. I'm a bit fed up now as I can't physically do anything. This forum has helped me loads though, keeping me sane!! you are all so kind xxx
