Don't know the sex of my twins yet but have some boys and girls names picked out that I can't decide from, any suggestions?:

Girls:

Seren
Aurora
Leyla
Persephone
Jeyda
Liviana
Larkin
Melody
Jocelyn

Boys:

Aldous
Pierce
Mason
Hakon
Hunter
Isaac
Huxley
Leon

I may have more later but these have always made my baby name lists in my previous pregnancies.

Oh you have some really unusual ones there, what names do your three kids have, do they have unusual names too.

My daughters called Briony , shes was the only one in junior school ( all years) which was lovely

Think I like Jocelyn and leon best from your list x

Briony is an unusual name. I'm not too keen on usual names. I like names that are unique and stand out, even if they're at first rejected by the conventional mind.

My other kids names are Maia, Ayden and Kalista.

There weren't many Maias when I first named her but the names gained more popularity over the years.
Ayden, I think is the most conventional of all 3 of my kids.
Kalista - haven't met anyone with that name although I've heard of an acrtress called Calista Flockhart. Which is why I decided to spell it with a K.

I know what you mean it took ages for my and OH to pick our daughters name as I wanted something different. We finally settled on Yvaine and then her grandmothers names as middle names.

Our next one is planned but we're not ttc yet and I'm already thinking of names: Merryn for a girl, Theo for a boy.............. I really liked Justin but it's not a good idea as I dated a guy named Justin for a while so my OH won't have it lol I see his point though! Rowan is nice and could go either way, ditto Willow.

I know a few issacs, my LO is layla and only met 1 other in spain a few yrs ago, i like leon & pierce too liviarna sounds beautiful! Xx

Yeah, may not go down too well if you use the name of an ex bf for a new baby (unless you never told your OH - it's not like your ex owns it ;-) ) Never heard of Yvaine before, that's a first.

If I choose Leyla, I'd probably use Persephone (Per-seff-a-nee), Seren, or Jocelyn as a middle name.
I love Liviana because it could be shortened to Liv.
Persephone could be used as Seff
My only beef is with Melody being shortened to Mel (no offence to all the Mels Im sure it's a gorgeous name and I'm not dissing it, it's just not my cuppa tea)

I have a Rhys,Toby, Briony, Devon and Roman , for just that reason as I hate shortenings! I 'm Considering a lovely boys name which can be shortened tho ! Risky

I love Seren and Aurora. My friend called her daughter Seren Sunshine xx

I've always loved Aurora and had suggested it to my hubby but he said no way because basically it means Dawn which is my name haha

Do you know whether they're identical or not? Or could they be boy/girl twins also?
I really like your list, you have quite a number of original names in it!
Here are my favorites:

boy/boy: Mason & Isaac (LOVE Isaac!!), Pierce & Huxley (sound really cool together IMO)

boy/girl: Isaac & Seren (my favourite), Isaac & Jocelyn

girl/ girl: Seren (reaaally cool name!! reminds me of Serena, but a lot cooler!) & Jocelyn
Liviana (also love how you can shorten it to Liv, which I think is lush!) & Seren

Thanks guys, Loving all the suggestions and combinations and some new names I like thrown in there too! Like Rhys.

I don't know the sex of the twins yet but they're DCDA with own placentas and sacs so I'm hoping one of each.

Aurora also means aurora borealis "a natural light display in the sky (from the Latin word aurora, "sunrise" or the Roman godess of dawn, predominantly seen in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions" refering to the solar winds and geomagnetic storms. I love the way it can be shortened to Rory.

Man, I gotta have one of each I want to make use of at least two from each list!

All our names have been pretty traditional but I did adore Indiana for a girl (no-one else liked it) and I love Ignacio for a boy.

X

I like them all but not so convinced on Persephone and aldous....

I know a little girl called Seren, such a lovely name :)

Love that you're choosing unusual names :)

Aldous is a very old name only revived in this century. It' not popular at all. I didn't really choose it for the meaning as much as my admiration of Aldous Huxley.

Persephone is a rebel. She is the godess of the underworld according to Greek mythology. It's one of those names you'd have to hear very often for it to grow on you but that would probably mean it became popular. hehehe I find it sounds quite melodic. "Per-seff-a-nee"

Seren is only popular in Wales and means 'Star' . It has been a favorite of mine since my last pregnancy. I was going to name my youngest daughter 'Seren' but found out that a facebook contact has a teenage daughter by that name and it seemed unoriganal to pursue it. Since I no longer use facebook, it doesn't really matter!

Bummer! I thought it possible to make more than one poll and was going to do one for 'Boys' names' but can't find the option to nor do I know how to edit it.

Ah well....

Girls names poll it is then.

Aurora is enchanting. Can be used as Rori or Auri or Rora.

So far, Seren's taking the lead.

I love Aurora. One of my work mates has an Aurora in her family. Always makes me think of sleeping beauty!

I wonder if it's only Sleeping Beauty's name in the Disney adaptation.

Ugh! I missed Jocelyn off the list. :-( Anyone know how to edit polls?
