We have been trough a cycle of IVF which was unsuccessfull, we had 3 embryos frozen at that time and had the only viable one transfered on the 1st july.

we had a spot of blood 2 weeks ago that came and went same day but had a scan to check, no obvious cause visable and told to return for 7 week scan as planned.

Today we attended and had the scan to our horror were told that there was no heartbeat although there was a fetal pole and yolk sack.

We were told that it is unlikely that the pregnancy is viable and that we were to return in 1 week for a further scan to confirm or deny this and discuss what next if it isnt to be.

We were devestated and came home and scoured the net to see if there is still a chance things would be ok, most answers seem to be for natural pregnancies where the date may vary but give ours has been planned and organised as such we feel there is little scope for variance.

anybody similar experience we would like to hear.

I have no advice but wanted to say how sorry i am.

I have my 7 week scan on Friday after finally getting a BFP on our 3rd IVF, so i really feel for you at the moment. I think there is always a reason to have hope, i will be praying that everything is ok next week.

Take care,

Michelle x

Hi, I feel for you going through this worry right now.
Hold onto the hope that they want to scan again in a week. if they were so sure i don't think they would be offering a later scan.

Although I can't possibly say whats happening in your case I have read of people going for scans and the heart beat not being detected untill a later scan.

I really hope everything goes ok for you. You must be going through hell in your mind right now.

Iv been throught this, went for a scan at 7+4 and it measured 5 weeks, with same, fetal pole and yolk, no heart beat, i was devastated as we have been trying for 14 months. But sure enough 10 days later i was measuring right again and there was a little heart beat. Dont give up hope yet everything could be fine

Thanks for the replys, those who said they had something similar, were theses natural pregnancies
trying to keep positive
