:( So dissapointed we have spent the last six months completely tied up with the thought of emigrating to Australia.
Its now not going to happen.

We were relying on another couple being able to get access rights at court to take her son out the country away from his biological father.

Lawyers have now told them this will cost thousands
Also as she has already been to court and the judge granted the father weekend access they say no other Judge will over turn this decision.

So its on to plan b now .......whats plan b again :?

Sorry to hear you are not able to move out there. Maybe in a few years.

Mind you with the current climate, over population of the popular cities and the Gov encouraging people to go to smaller towns etc if emigrating it might not be a bad thing. Small town Australia is very different from the cities and Neighbours. And the water shortage alone is going to make the next few years very tough out there. Property prices are rising, as are rents and cost of living if they have to continue to import food etc will go higher again.

My husband is Australian but when we had to decide where we wanted to be for the foreseable future, he perferred the UK over Australia and we have no plans to go live there at all. Visit for 3-6 months in the next few years, and do so on and off when we can, but long term our plan is to move out to New Zealand. As much as I loved Australia, I'd not want to live there long term and neither does hubby anymore.

I'm a bit confused as to why it hinges on someone elses access rights though, but understand you don't want to go into more detail.
