Just wondered if anyone has any advice re feeding in the night. My lo is nearly five months and formula fed. She usually wakes at around 4am for a night feed and has about 6oz but then when she wakes up at 7/7.30am she isn't interested in having her bottle. Sometimes she wakes at 12am instead of 4am and then she might have a little bit in the morning but she just doesn't seem hungry. So should I be thinking about stopping her night feed so that she is hungry in the morning or do I just let her carry on as she is obviously hungry at the time she wakes in the night? I'm not sure how I would get her back to sleep without feeding her?! Thanks, Sarah x

Personally id carry on. My boy is 7 months and still wakes for one feed. he only has around 3 oz, but some nights hell have a whole 6oz.

If I had tried around 5 months to stop feeds it would have failed, only now at 7 months was he ready for controlled crying, which is basically what you'd have to do to stop a feed in the night.

Have you tried offering water if she wakes up and only has a little bit? x

Well it's usually when she wakes up for the day that she doesn't want a feed so I haven't tried giving her water then. Maybe if I just give her a bit less at 4am maybe she will be a bit hungrier at 7? Otherwise I guess I will carry on then, I'm sure she will change it in her own time! x

Ive always just followed what my boy wanted to be honest. It doesn't matter if she doesn't wake up hungry in the morning. Im sure she will let you let you know when shes hungry again =) .. and when you start weaning it'll be great to get her started on food for breakfast then
xx

Yes that's true! Great thanks, I'll stop worrying so much then and just let her decide what she wants! x
