Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice or information. I'm not trying to conceive as such but I'm at an age where I'd like to discuss possibilities and/or see if anyone has a similar story.

I'm 33 and have a left ovarian cyst which has been diagnosed over the last 18 months. I have never been pregnant and am certain I would have been by now, if it were possible.

I've had three very long term partners and have been on the pill a couple of times. However, the each pill I've taken has made mephysically sick and I've not continued with it. However, my last partner and I continued as normal and Inever fell pregnant. Please don't think this was a gamble as although I wasn't trying per-se, I would have embraced the siuation with open arms. Hope that makes sense! :?

In hinesight, I'm very glad nothing happened as the relationship fell apart.

Now I am very happy with my boyfriend and we have been 'trying' for a year and nothing has happened. I'm pretty sure I'll need some assistance as I know I should have fallen pregnant by now (in terms of the last relationship as well).

Just wondered if anyone could offer any information on this. What is the first step in all of this?
Is it REALLY possible to get pregnant with assistance after all of this time?

I suppose I'm being pessimistic but I'd really value anything you can offer. Does anyone have a success story?

Many Thanks Guys. :)

Hi there

Unfortunately I don't have a success story yet but I wanted to offer some advice. I've been ttc for 3 years without luck and only in the last 6 months or so have sought some help, and am now on my way to getting pregnant (probably through ICSI but it's a long story). Due to your history with having a cyst and the amount of time you've been trying I would make an appointment with your doctor and discuss this with them as there are so many options availible to you. Its not too late and its better to get the ball rolling sooner than later. Once you see the doc, you can expect to have some blood tests to see what your hormaone levels are like and this can give them an indication if you are ovulating. They will ask you questions around your cycles and how oftern you have sex. They may then do some scans to check you have no blockages.

Also, there are success stories on here, just check further down on peoples ttc diaries. Good luck and let us know how you get on x

Thanks for your positive reply Suzie.

I intend to go and see the doctor to get the ball rolling. Theres no harm in eliminating potential problems at this stage.

I wish you the VERY best of luck. I'll be sticking around here so I've no doubt you'll be keeping everyone posted.
