I have been unable to wear my wedding rings for about 14 months now because my fingers have swollen and I miss wearing my wedding rings. I still have a lot of weight to loose so I assume it will be a while before I can get them on again. (If I ever do.)

I have been looking at a cheap temporary one from Argos and I wondered what you all thought.

Should I get an new wedding ring?

if it is relatively cheap and you can afford it then i say YES :D

why not just get them resized, it doesn't cost much.

I'm scared to get them resized because they mean a lot to me and I am hoping that I will be able to wear them again sometime soon. It sounds daft as they are only rings.

Maybe it would be an idea to get them resized in a years time if they still don't fit.

Would they be able to cut them down again if they became too big? xxx

yeah, making them bigger is a bit more money cos they have to add gold to it. Making them smaller is cheaper cos they just take a bit away.

Take it to a decent place it'll be fine :)

TBH I would probably wear it around my neck! Or get it resized!
To me your wedding ring is your wedding ring! One to replace it for a while although will look ok will not mean much! I get attacted to things lol can you tell!?

When I was pregnant my fingers swelled up so much that I couldn't wear my wedding ring, so I wore it around my neck instead. I don't think a temporary one would have the same sentimental value really.

We went snookling the day after our marriage in Cuba and hubby lost his wedding ring somewhere at the bottom of the caribean sea!! He was so gutted that he bought a replacement one from the jewellers in the hotel and was actually nicer and more expensive than his original! But then he was never going to get his original one back!

If I was you I would buy a new one cus I hate not being able to wear my wedding ring on my wedding finger. I was more deperate to get it back on post preg than getting into my jeans! xx

i think you should do what xena says. personally a cheap temporary replacement wouldn't be the same for me - and i'd prefer to have the incentive to be able to wear my original ring again.

If it was me I probably wouldn't bother with a temp relacement, I would just make my wedding ring my target to loose the weight. You might be better spending that money on getting it made slightly bigger depending on how realistic your weight loss target is lol

Thanks girls. You have given me a lot to think about and I still haven't made up my mind on what to do. I am so confused. :?
