Yesterday as some of you know i went back to work and OH had Charlie (they had a great time lol!) I expressed milk for her at work (and got leaky boobs V.embarrassing!) and managed to get about 340mls ito store in the freezer for friday when im at work again. Charlie only takes little amounts of milk, roughly about 80mls per feed, which in itself worries me as i know a lot of other babies younger than Charlie are taking 150-180mls. Whn i BF her she stays on for about 20 mins and she is feeding every 2.5 hours. I dont think im producing enough milk for her, but cant top her up with formula as it makes her violently sick, even soya milk. My HV is a bit of a wet blanket and his only advice was omneo (sp) comfort. I have heard a lot of you guys say this makes your baby sick? My fear is that if all i can express is 340mls when im not BFing her how will OH be able to get through the day , its not enough! Oh im babbling on now, but just worried, Im sorry to ask you all again but you always come up with the best answers!!

No back 2 days per week, am expressing all the day im at work, then trying everyday im at home. Dont seem to get much whilst im at home and charlie is beeding from me.
I know the easy solution is not to go back to work, but we really need me to, its the last thing i want to do. I hated every minute of it yesterday. MW, HV and doctors have all passed judgement on me being back at work, which upsets me.

Perhaps try expressing first thing in the morning, after a warm shower (if you have time for either that is!) Also drink plenty of water and if the milk flow slows a lot and you think you are done expressing, wait 5 minutes and try again.
If you express a little bit each day hopefully you'll have enough by the time you have to go into work.
As far as returnoing to work, your baby is at home with daddy, not in childcare, and you are obviously working because you have to, to give her a good quality of life. Don't let them make you feel bad, just think of what you can buy for her with the money you are earning.

Dont worry about how much she takes Abi has never been a big feeder and has only recently started taking 150ml + but even now she only takes 60mls at times as long as she's gaining weight dont worry, as for expressing you should be able to express again after roughly 30mins of emptying your boobs i always waited about an hour tho, it might be worth doing this for a while to get a good stash in freezer this will also up your supply this is why i did it. It's a pain in the bum but it's not forever!
