I found with Jess one of the most useful thing i had was a thing that goes on your door to stop it closing fully. I think she would of had a few fingers missing if it wasn't for that. Also a fridge lock and those rubber thing you stick on sharp corners. And most important a safty gate but I'm sure you already have one of those!
Covers for pulg sockets were a MUST for me... zack used to try and put his fingers in them. Pain in the butt he is!
Ive bought like little locks for the tops of the doors, because our door handles are low and zack can open them, otherwise I would have had to buy loads of saftey gates.
Zack was a nightmare when he started walking, used to grab everything.
So I put a load of shelves up to move everything higher.
the only safety thing i have are plug covers. I had a gate but she doesnt come into the kitchen if i tell her not to because the things are hot and it was mostly getting left open and was a pain in the arse cause it kept falling off. She actually hurt herself on the gate.
One thing I did do though was because I have a marble fireplace i got chunky bubble wrap and covered the bottom of the fireplace. She puts her toys there and has never had a tumble. Its a bit of a laugh with people now.
Another good idea for a fireplace is that pipe-insulation stuff, like a big foam tube, you can cut it to the right size, cut a wedge out of it and fix it over the hearth in caes they fall on it.
Stair gates, door stoppers, plug covers, corner cushions and 'NO' for everything else. We had a loo lock when Daniel was small but I think that was for the dog rather than Daniel.
We've never had a fireplace before but have this time, the bubble wrap or foam are great ideas
