Hope you ladies don't mind but I just need to vent to people that understand! So I finish work 31st July and I'll be 35 weeks (taking holiday before mat leave) , I had planned to leave at 33 weeks but with two full time members of staff being off I said I'd help out and stay with the promise that they would fast track my replacement to start next week before holidays start.

He's failed the credit check so he can't start now, if he appeals it it'll take 28days at least and I'll have gone by then.

There will be (24hours) , 2 12 hours that have their set days and then my assistant manager who's on Ramadan so is exhausted in the day. I'm going to have to do loads of overtime, I wouldn't be bothered but my hayfever is horrendous and it's making me drowsy so I'm already struggling with energy because of that. Plus my bump is starting to give me horrendous back ache because I'm already big for my tiny frame.

Just sobbed in work, fed up now. If it wasn't the hayfever I would be enjoying my pregnant and even my job but now I just feel rubbish x x x

Sorry to hear that u r struggling n that works a nightmare, try to put ur feet up n rest when u can. Remember u n bubs r more important than work n they shud b helping u nit making it worse.

Big hugs

Michelle.x

I would tell them how you clearly feel.
I've just finished work on Saturday at 34 1/2 weeks on holiday until my due date week. Unfortunately I was due to finish two weeks prior to this because the shop closed down I choose to stay until the end. I've always enjoyed my job doing stupid shifts and hours, but the past few weeks I've really felt it. I didn't get on with my boss but I had a heart to heart with her, she reduced my hours but paid my full wage. I swelled up massively and was a mess. I'm not a cryer, I'm a bitch when angry. I'm grateful for her understanding me, for a change

You go on maternity/ holiday when you want. There's only you who knows how you feel just tell them. We all need a breather before the baby comes. Surely the place won't fall apart without you? Otherwise how will they cope at all? Xxx

Sorry you are feeling rubbish bunny; you don't 'have' to do overtime - you are heavily pregnant and obviously suffering with hayfever. As much as you love your job and don't want to let people down you need to put yourself first. It's not your fault your replacement fell through or that there are other staff members off or that your manager is exhausted - those are their personal circumstances; you need to focus on your own. I know it's hard - Im a typical 'yes person' and I'm very lucky to say I Love my job but sometimes people just don't realise what they are asking/expecting of you
Chin up and do only what you can cope with - nothing is more important than your own and baby's wellbeing
Xxx

Ladies thank you all so so much!
Your all right, I'm going to soldier on for as long as I feel I can. Honestly if it wasn't for this hayfever id be fine, who knows it may get better when the weather calms down. Going doctors tomorrow to see if there's anything they can prescribe to take the edge off.
I feel terrible because I was off for 4 weeks at the start of my pregnancy you ladies probably remember when I was really sick, but your all right me and baby come first and maybe I just need to open up to my manager rather then saying yes and putting on a brave face xxxxx

Sorry youre feeling so rotten bunny, not long to go although it probably seems so far away at the moment xx

Don't do anything you feel you can't do, or shouldn't be doing. I know how stressful it is aswell. I am really struggling. I can not wait until 4pm on Thursday 30th July!! X

Thanks ladies!

I'm going to speak to manager again today, got doctors tonight and if they can't / won't give me anything for my hayfever I'm thinking of leasing early. Seems ridiculous and I am so annoyed that I may have to leave early because of bloody hayfever but I'll post some picture later of how swollen my eyes get, makes me drowsy and j don't feel safe to drive or in the mood to serve customers x x x

Do what is best for you and baby not work. In my last job I got to the point where I would ask myself if my colleagues would do what I did (going above and beyond etc) and the answer was no so I stopped doing it too. You need to look after yourself hun. Hay fever is horrendous this year, mine is really bad too and keeps me up half night and I am super sick of it and being exhausted but am lucky enough to be a stay at home mum so god knows how you cope with it and go to work. Pollen count is ridiculous this year! Doesnt help when you are pregnant and treatment options are more limited either. Don't beat yourself up over it, it is perfectly understandable x

Thanks H your right! I'll see how long I can keep going for :) thanks for your support x x x

This is how bad it's been the past 2 weeks x x x

You tell work that as this replacement staff member now cannot start as planned and so youd like to revert to your original plan of leaving at 33 weeks.

Hugs
