I'm a very naughty girl who hasn't been to the dentist for SEVENTEEN YEARS! (Since I was a kid)

I brush and all that and my teeth have been fine until now. One of my molars cracked at the weekend and a quarter of it fell out today. It doesn't hurt which is good; unless it's cause it's all dead, which is bad :(

I'm now ringing round dentists to try and find an NHS one that'll take me. I'll still have to wait a couple of weeks though.

Positive dentist dust please!!!

:( Just a teensy wish of good luck? From anyone? Please?

I'm going on Tuesday and I'm nervous.

Good luck chick. I HATE the dentist too. The first time i went for about 15 years was when I was preggers with James cos my gums were bleeding. Fortunately I was bloody lucky and there was nowt else wrong.

I hope you get on ok

Awww good luck honey, you'll be fine :D

Probably a similar amount of time as me

I have a complete phobia of dentists which stems from my childhhood when our old duffer of a family dentist used to take my milk teeth out for fun, I'm sure he probably got NHS money for doing something  Anyway, don't worry, I cracked a molar on a kettle chip about 5years ago and now just have a little stub in its place, still didn't go and the pain went eventually :D

Good luck, sorry, don't envy you

So relieved I'm not the only naughty dentist-dodger!

Had it patched up with some wiered putty stuff today and have to go back October to have a half crown thing in. £200!!!!!!

Better get saving. She didn't even look at my others today so God only knows what I'm going to owe

Thats the trouble with not going for ages. When you do go it costs a fortune!
I've not seen one for 2 years now but not through choice, I can't find an NHS one taking on round here and I can't afford to pay private

Good luck for having the crown fitted, my OH has loads of those and he's terrified of the dentist (hence why he needed them in the first place!) so it can't be that bad :)

god, dentists are so expensive arnt they :x

I havent been since i was about 12 (im 28 now  ) my teeth are in pretty good shape i reckon, but im gonna have to start taking Beth now as her adult teeth are groing....suppose i'll have to get myself an appointment too :? im scared, lol.

ditto, Until I managed to find a NHS one about 2 weeks ago, first time in 14 yrs, I lept out the chair when she went near me, such agony! she is sending me to the hospital so thank fuly wont be costing me for further treatment!

another naughty dentist dodger here... last time i went i was at school!

but ive never had to have anything done apart from the odd bit of cleaning. :cheer:

I am going to go whilst i get the free treatment though!!

Slightly off topic - when do you need to start taking kids?

im pissed off with my dentist as i had an appointment, they didnt even bother to ring me and let me know they wernt open, so i walked half a mile for no reason :wall:
