My last name

i want to give my baby my last name instead of my boyfriends, but i dont want to offend him or his family.

what do you guys think?

do what you feel happiest with, but it is far easier registering the baby in your name and changing it to his if you ever decide to than the other way round, as he would have to give his permission for the baby to cange from his name to yours

all my kids will/have my surname until me and my partner marry.
you can always change your little ones surname if/when you marry and you change your name.

i would have found it very hard if my kids didn't have my surname. even though me and my partner are very close and nothing would split us up (or so i hope), i still wanted them to have my name.

mark understood it was something i needed/wanted to do and was happy with it, cause he knows that when we marry, we will all take his name.

Finlay has my surname too but me and his dad have only just recently started talking again.

Its easy to change it in the future

Talk to your OH about it, if it's something you feel strongly about he needs time to get used to it, and it would be better to discuss things now rather than later Isaac has OH's surname, as will this LO, as we intend on marrying in the next few years anyway, but even if not I prefer them having his surname, but it's important it's talked about early on I think, very best wishes
