My growth scan

Hi all and thanks for your messages.

All was fine today and was great to see my little girl who was confirmed to be a little girl!!!! She is a little small around her tummy but i'm pretty certain thats what happened when I had my growth scan with my son at the same gestation so they weren't worried about it.

Unfortunately I didn't get any pics although I did get to see her face quickly and she looks exactly the same as my son did on his which was really weird! She looks gorgeous! (I know i'm biased!)

Anyway, they have estimated the weight to be about 5lb 8oz at the moment give or take 25% (I personally think its over estimated like before) and comparing the notes to my previous ones, she's looking to be about the same weight so looks like i'll be having another little one! (which I really don't mind at all!)

i thought 5lb 8 was a good weight? dior was born 5lb 5oz at 35weeks and they said she was a good size would have been about 9lb if fullterm harley was born 6lb at 35weeks

glad all was well... im happy i had 2 small babies too

thats brilliant news tan... as long as she is healthy then her size doesn't matter... and 5lb 8oz is a reasonable good weight... lets hope she gets up to or over 6lb... little sweety!!!! must be lovely to see her this close... next time she'll be seeing you too...

Yeah but I don't think they are particularly accurate though.
With my son, at 36 weeks they said he was about 5lb 6oz. He was born 5 weeks later at 5lb 10oz so according to them he only put on 4oz in 5 weeks??? (I think they estimate that baby should put on about 1/2 lb every week from abour 35 weeks so he should have been about 7 1/2 - 8lbs?)

But they also wouldn't even entertain my idea that he stopped growing early?! So who knows?!

i don't trust these growth scans at all.
I was toldi was having a big baby with my first 9Ib plus they told me. i was petrified all through the last two months of my pregnancy. She turned out to be 7 and half pounds.
With my second they told me she was small for dates and prepare for a tiny baby. After a scary labour and nearly an emergency c section Rebekah arrived at 8Ib 14
all they said was that i did well to push her out.

Im so glad that your scan went ok and that your little girl is ok!

If they have got her weight right it isnt a bad one! Well i supposed its down to the waiting game for you now like the rest of us lol!

I agree with you about the later scans they really are amazing!
