Rosie is 22m and very good talking

She's very well behaved but like all toddlers she has her moments! When she does something naughty I tell her off, tell her why she shouldn't be doing it and ask her to say sorry

Well she point blank refuses to say sorry and has a meltdown when I ask her to!

During day when I ask her to say please or thank you she repeats no questions asked, but asking her to say sorry and she strops!

Now I don't know whether to be persistent and keep in at her until age says sorry or just stop asking her to say sorry and just continue with the discipline without the sorry part!

Can't help but feel she's being stubborn and she knows exactly what sorry means that's why she refuses to say it!! Slightly worrying! X

Being persistent is the key here. I have a friend whose little girl was exactley the same but after several days of repeating "say sorry" and several hours on the naughty step she finally started saying sorry!

I hope you manage to resolve the issue soon!! x

Yeah, sorry really does seem to be the hardest word!

When mine was young I taught her the sign for it sl she was communicating sorry. then, when se was old enough to say it she did. She still doesn't like it now and has a strop about it. She stays in her room until its said.

DD2 says it no probs

I've had this from Cam before.

He goes on a time out and the end process is for him to say sorry then we have a kid and a cuddle and then go play.

He refused to say sorry so he had to stay on timeout until he said sorry. I just walked away for about half a minute then went back and asked if he was ready to say sorry. If he said no then I just him again and repeated until he said sorry.
