I have SPD and am currently signed off work until next wednesday when the doctor will reassess me.

I spent yesterday with my mum and dad. Their house is much much bigger than mine and so i spent a lot more time on my feet and walking about.

Today I am suffering for it.

My back has seized. Its soooo painful to do anything. Thank goodness my house is small as walking any distance really hurts.

Not sure what to do?

Hubby wants me to call doc but dont think they can do anything more for me.

Think i will have a bath and see if it helps - if i can get into it that is!!!

*sigh* fed up :(

If you have spd I am sure you know that it's the pregnancy hormones softening your ligamets. I put my back out bending over the basin to have a wash whilst pregnant with DS. It went in to spasm and I was actually sick the pain was that bad. Be really careful, you seem to be one of the unlucky ones who are badly affected by the hormones.

Hope it's feeling better soon.

Big  Can't give and advice - just wanted to say "chin up" - you'll get there and it'll be worth it. In the meantime I'd be getting some relaxing done with a bag of maltesers and the remote all to myself :) Take care hun x

Thank you  its so nice to get a little support when you are feeling rubbish and want to just be enjoying being pregnant xx

I had a bath and it helped a little.
I called the doctor and the receptionist told me to call ack at 4.30pm to speak to the nurse who will decide if i need to been seen etc

If they do want to see me I hope hubby is home in time to take me. Its only over the road, but walking to the loo and back is so painful i'd probably get stuck halfway there

My back seized up very early on in my pregnancy - at about 5 weeks. I found that the best thing was a hot water bottle and paracetamol.

   I hope your reassessment goes well. Have you had any physio yet? I found it really helped the spd I had in my first pregnancy

Doctor said I need complete bed/chair rest for a couple of days and to contact my physio again.

He said I should ask them if they can loan me a tens machine to help with the pain??!! Anyone heard of this helping with SPD before???

He also asid they should probably give me crutches now :(

At least hubby is home now to take care of me :cheer:
