My 21 week scan *with photos*

I was fuming at first because the sonographer had her arm in the way of the screen. I was pressed up so close to her that i was nearly sitting in her lap!! I tried craining my head but she said it made my stomach muscles crunch up. I told her that i couldnt see but she said she couldnt do it any other way. I spent the first 2 or 3 minutes looking at the ceiling on the verge of tears. Also she made me pull my trousers right down and im sure my OH and mum could see everything (good job i did some maintenance this morning lol)

It did get better after that. Everyting is present and correct, fine and dandy. i got to see loads in the end and i resited the urge find out the sex

The pics arent brilliant quality, I took them from my mobile in the end (scanner plan fell thu!!)

OH cannot see the image on the pics, he just sees grey 'blobs'

The '20'week scan is quite strict as they have lots of precise measurements to take, but afterwards they show you your LO which is amazing

I'm really pleased to read everything was ok at your scan TangerineDream.

I think some of the sonographers sound like right miserable people. I know the ones I've seen were. When we had the 21 week scan OH asked if everything was present and correct "All 15 toes in place" he said jokingly. The sonographer just stood stony faced looking at him before saying "We don't count toes". Sense of humour failure or what??

they are a funny breed aren't they... I meet a lot of them in my line of work and there are some nice ones out there to be fair, but a lot are v. miserable.

Look forward to seeing the scan pictures!

Glad it went ok.

Some sonographers seem to be a little lacking in the compassion side I find. First scan I had this time, she jabbed me so hard with the scanner when she was checking my bladder for abnormalities that I ended up with blood in my urine and was passing small clots when I wee'd

Then at my 20 week scan, when she showed me my boy's bits (ahem) I asked if I could have a print as proof, but she said no 'we don't do porno'
