everytime i go in there and read things i start getting really terrified and makes me not want to be pg lol
i feel asif i will never ever be able to give birth and start panicing about not being able to cope lol
im such a fool i no god nose how il cope when im in there
anyone else worrying like me or am i alone in my crazyness?
manda xx

I just don't think about it. When the time comes and I'm going to give birth, then I will... until then, no point worrying myself silly.
Birth is the most natural thing, I think all of us will be fine.

i was exactally the same in my 1st pregnancy! but from my experience i didnt think giving birth was as bad as everyone made out(give me labour to pregnancy any day!) obv everyone is different with there pain barrier etc etc

xxx

I've been through it once so not so worried  Still not looking forward to the birth though lol

lol you lot sound very confident
mind i dont think my birth plans help (yes im ultra prepered) i wanna be alone no hubby or anyone else in the room till its all done apart from dr's and midwife
hubby dont wanna be in there anyways for a good reason that he really cant stand blood a papercut and hes passed out lol

you may find you need him there for the support  Sean will be with me all the way through

Give yourself another 30 weeks you'll be desperate to go into labour. :)

Lol! Urchin is right! I was terrified about labour until the last month and then I was trying everything natural I could (including eating half a pineapple a day) to get things started! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be- the first few weeks with no sleep and me scared about what to do with a baby were worse :rotfl: !

I'm sure you'll all be fine! and manda224 my OH is very squeamish too and there was really no way he could have been of help to me or anyone come my time. He has passed out before now at the mention of blood let alone the sight of it! My Mum came in with me and she was absolutely brilliant! She is up for labour number 2 too thankfully and my OH is fine about coming in afterwards, he really would have been more upset than anything and as it was he came in, saw his beautiful new baby and went straight to the lovely bit. It was nice to have a person there for you though- have you got a friend/relation who you would trust? I had several offers strangely enough!

Also I had never even had a smear test before Mel because I'd been too embarrassed- ridiculous I know and really stupid- so I was really worried about that too but it was fine, once you're in labour it all seems different anyway. Plus there are lots of nice pain relief methods about, some people don't like it but I wanted to take the gas and air home with me! You'll surprise yourself when you get there and the need to finally see your baby will also get through. People wouldn't have more than one baby if it was THAT dreadful!

Now I remember that thread with us all trying to go into labour, eating pineapple all day, washed down with raspberry leaf tea while walking up stairs 2 at a time

Fat lot of good it did me :wall:

:puke: Raspberry leaf tea! And long walks and lots of sex! Don't forget the sex! At least that bit was good! (Oh and the curries, those were good too!)

And if you're like me you go to your midwife the day after your due date and beg her with tears in your eyes for her to induce you there and then...

Labours a doddle compared to the last 5 weeks of being pg... Now that's truly horrible. :rotfl:

i cant bear to think about the giving birth part! Mainly cos i dont know where i want it. I hate hospitals, dont want to be somewhere where there are thousands of ill people and staff wandering around, and rat infestions and all that! But dont want to make a mess on the carpet at home (haha) or risk it if anything went wrong........so im just avoiding thinking about that bit...ive only got as far as imagining having a bump!!!

Im still trying to get over the esciene about the fact a melon size being will have to come out of my tinee fanny!!!!

 :?

mands? u have done ur birth plan already? gah!!! how prepared are you lol...most birth plans go out the window...i dont think il bother doing 1 this time

I too am very scared, however, I have great confidence that our bodies will help us get over that. Like other ladies have said, I am sure we'll be begging for the little blighter to get out when the time comes. Apparently your body releases 'bravery hormones' in the last few weeks too that help you feel more confident and ready to take it on.

Another thing which reassures me is that many woman do it again and again and again. It must be pretty painful, but if it was the worst thing ever, the population would die out. Hooray for drugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the drugs are good. Three cheers that we are having babies in the 21st Century too and in a Country with a good, free health service!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I WAS EXACTLY THE SAME, AND I ATE PINEAPPLE, HAD LOADS OF SEX, EVEN HAD CASTER OIL TO TRY AND MOVE THINGS ALONG I WAS SO DESPERATE. oops sorry didnt know i was writing in caps lock.

anyway - this time round im just as nevous - but i know its all worth it - or why would i be going through it again.? (esp so soon!)

beleive me.. in 30 weeks you'll be desperate to go into labour!!!

I'm more worried about the sleepless nights, and endless cycle of bottles and nappies than giving birth
