must stay out of 3rd tri

Don't worry ladies, to those who are first timers, I am a first timer too. You may see me asking a lot of questions but I am just curious. Over here, in cyprus, we don't have midwives or the support network your GP gives you, so I found this site to be full of helpful advice and tips!

Yes, there are some horrid things that happen to your body but our bodies are built to make babies, which is a harder course than putting up with all the nips n clicks that come along with it.

Remember going into labour isn't the hours you read about, it's like 40 mins - an hour, it's the dialiation etc that takes the longest.

I was in and out of tri 1 and 2 alot and left for tri 3 when I hit 27 weeks, I was too scared before hand lol

I am not posting this to scare you, Josephine Beth, more to give you every chance to be prepared. If you expect only 40 mins to an hour you could be disappointed. After 36 hours of contractions I was fully dilated. I then spent another 4 hours pushing in second stage before they called the doctors in. Then I was prepped for surgery, and 2 hours into the surgical birth (failed ventouse then caesarian) they had to call the consultant in from home. Then they gave me a general anaesthetic. Finally 40hours after it all began I was stitched up and in recovery.

I had been told a story of blood and guts and complete horror by a friend who had had the same thing happen to them and they were completely in shock for months afterwards. I vowed to keep an open mind about everything, and managed fairly quick recovery in part due to my 'ready for anything' approach.

PS the pain of even 40hrs of labour wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. For the first 36 hours I just had a Tens machine, massage and some gas and air towards the end.

I've done it both ways , natural delivery and caesar and I can definitely recommend the latter. However, with the amount of pain relief I had, I can barely remember the first delivery so who am I to judge??!!!LOL

I meant the last stage, I haven't known anyone in person to take over an hour in the last stage of giving birth, horror stories and all. I suppose sods law is gonna slap me and make it happen to me now lol

to be honest, labour was no way near as bad as i thought... in the new arrivals section there are some easy births as well as the tougher ones - read some easy ones, that'll make you feel better :)
